Not sure where you're located, but Sysco is a national supplier with locations just about everywhere.

I don't know where you are, but I used Martin Bros., US, JP, and then Sysco. Sysco has about everything, but the prices are outrageous and the reps suck. If I told any other rep what a Sysco price was, they could beat it for the exact same product. Sysco had a couple things I couldn't get from the others, but required me to buy 10 cases of anything for them to deliver even though they went right by my restaurant. When you find a rep of any company, ask them if there's a quota per week.

Where are you? Most of our local restaurants all get their meats from one place, and then they will have someone local for specialty meats like venison or ostrich.

Then you'd get your veggies from a distributor as well, mixed with local farms in season.

You're at a disadvantage. Many hosts open a restaurant because they know where there's some good food and they want to offer it to customers.

At my restaurant, I use Sysco for everything. They have the best customer service and the best quality. You can also look into US Foodservice, Monarch, and Merchants Foodservice/Frosty Acres. If you need any help, feel free to email me.

I dont know where you live? You'll need purveyors for fresh veggies, fish, meats, frozen products, dry products, dairy and papaer products. Always have more than one seller for each item to keep each one on their toes if prices are too high from one. You will catch on.
