I am by myself this weekend and I pulled some ground meat out of the freezer. I am not a cook and really do not know a lot about cooking. I try simple things. I have onions, garlic, spices. any suggestions?

HAMBURGER PIE

1 lb. ground beef
1 can tomato soup
1 cup green beans
5-7 medium potatoes, finely chopped
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375°F.
Brown the ground beef in a skill over medium high heat. When brown, stir in tomato soup and green beans.

Stir until green beans thaw. Cut up 5-7 medium potatoes into tiny pieces. Blend the potatoes up with 2 tablespoons of butter. Transfer meat mixture from skillet into a 9 x 11 pan.

Layer the potatoes on top of the meat mixture.

Broil in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until potato is golden brown!

Meat loaf!!! Add a couple eggs, onions or garlic, tomato(chopped or sauce) some oregano, parsley, beef bouillon, and oat meal or bread crumbs. Mix it all up, for into a loaf, top with ketsup, bake at 350 for about an half hour. Great with mashed potatoes and green beans. Yumm, I'm getting hungry.

this is simple and good.

brownd ground meat with onion (diced jalapeno and garlic are optional)
season with some or all of the following
salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, and / or cumin (ground comino)
add 1 cup of uncooked rice per pound of meat and 2 to 1 water
add a can of crushed tomatos (rotel with chilies works great)
simmer till rice is done.
fluff with fork
eat plain or covered in picante sauce.

Got any boxes of mac and cheese? Make your own "Hamburger Helper!". Cook your mac and cheese, fry up your hamburger with a little garlic, saute some onions with a little butter, and mix it all up.

I would suggest making lasagna. Freeze anything you won't eat this weekend in single-size servings to make later in the oven or microwave as a quick meal.

Buy some beans and make a big pot of chili. It's impossible to screw up making chili.

I would go with chili.........easy as you can get.......and it's not really "cooking" as much as assembling.......and recipezaar.com and foodtv.com have a ton of recipes.....Enjoy!!
