Cause all good things take time. We will sell no doctrine before its time.

Moreover some things Jesus said, he didn't mean. For example: "Not everyone who saith unto me 'Lord Lord" will enter in heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father."
Martin Luther revealed that Jesus didn't really mean that, and so now we know it is "By faith alone" that we are saved.

Praise be unto Martin Luther and Calvin and the whole bunch of them.
And praise be unto the holy Babtists, who advanced the doctrine of spontaneous salvation.

So ... Lutheranism is the true religion? Obviously not all Protestant churches repesent the true religion, since they conflict with one another on virtually every possible point of doctrinal belief, and truth cannot conflict with truth. The true Church is that which was founded by Jesus Christ, and which therefore must have a 2,000 year historical record. It's not difficult to figure out, if you sincerely want to know. Make a list of all Christian churches that have been around for 100 years. Then narrow it down to Christian churches referred to in historical records 500 years ago. Then take it back to 1,000 years ago. Then ... oh, wait ... you don't have to look any further. 1,000 years ago there was only one Christian Church on earth. 1,200 years ago - one. 1,500 years ago - one. 1,900 years ago - only the Holy Catholic Church. Ignatius, first Catholic bishop of Antioch, wrote of "the Holy Catholic Church" in 107 AD. Ignatius was instructed and ordained by the apostle John. Any questions?

Every Christian religion believes that Christ taught the true gospel. Many do believe that important truths were lost over time, which would cause big problems, thus the need for a reformation. When it comes down to it everyone feels that what they believe is the truth. We just have to act as Christ would and be loving and accepting of everyone, and let any judgments be left to God.

The Protestants believe they follow the early church's understanding of scripture - not the later Catholic Church. If you read John Calvin you will see that he quotes the early church fathers extensively. Calvin was very familiar with the writings of the early Church Fathers, but more importantly he knew the scriptures. It was Calvin's position to seek reformation of the church of Rome, but when that failed (they most likely would have burnt him, like they did countless Protestants), they departed as a continuing church.

In fact here is a Protestant link which shares the writings of the early church fathers. http://www.ccel.org/fathers.html

"True religion" was started by Jesus 2,000 years ago and is recorded in the Book of Acts.
The “first church” is the church that is recorded in the New Testament, especially in the Book of Acts and the Epistles of Paul. The New Testament church is the “original church” and the “one true church.” We can know this because it is described, in great detail, in Scripture. The church, as recorded in the New Testament, is God’s pattern and foundation for His church. On this basis, let’s examine the Roman Catholic claim that it is the “first church.” Nowhere in the New Testament will you find the “one true church” doing any of the following: praying to Mary, praying to the saints, venerating Mary, submitting to a pope, having a select priesthood, baptizing an infant, observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper as sacraments, or passing on apostolic authority to successors of the apostles. All of these are core elements of the Roman Catholic faith. If most of the core elements of the Roman Catholic Church were not practiced by the New Testament Church (the first church and one true church), how then can the Roman Catholic Church be the first church? A study of the New Testament will clearly reveal that the Roman Catholic Church is not the same church as the church that is described in the New Testament.
