Antonio my...well, I'm not sure what to call him, hence the question, has just gotten into a big snit about it.

So much so that he ironed my tuxedo poorly and laid out a very unbecoming tie for my dinner last night.

Man servant is politically in-correct as it implies he is your slave. Hes just your employee that you pay.

A valet is the people who drive you around, or park your cars at fancy restaurants.

He is your butler. Does your errands, chores, housework, etc...

A gentleman's personal servant is his valet - this person attends to the gentleman's wardrobe, helps him dress, draws his bath, and so on. The valet is the male equivalent of the chambermaid who attends to the lady of the house.

The butler deals with the household staff, including the maids and footmen. He is essentially the supervisor of the household servants, and ranks more highly than the valet in the "below stairs" pecking order.

It IS so very difficult to find good help these days, isn't it? Just watch that the valet doesn't run off with the governess or you'll find your wardrobe all topsy-turvy indeed.

If he is your personal body servant and cares only for you and your clothes and personal errands and needs, he is your valet. If his services encompass the cars, and the heavy work about the house then he is a man servant.
If his services involve the running of the household and food service and the overseeing of the kitchen and other household staff, he is a butler.
Leastways that's what my momma the Queen taught me
A Lady's personal maid is called a Lady's maid, not a chamber maid, a chamber is a room and so a chamber maid would be someone who sees to the room or rooms to clean.

So are you Sir Mark? Your tuxedo should be done by the dry cleaners not your butler or man servant. Your valet parks your car.

the politically correct term would probably be:
Administrative Assistant,....

Because those other terms how ever they may be true or accurate, vaguely have the air of "Personal Slave".

Well, take it in stride,... either have a laugh about it or fire his butt,.. get someone with better taste. Could be he's just getting senile, & its his time to be put to pasture,.... or put out of his misery,...

good luck babe!!!
