How old is your cat? If he is older I wouldn't be worried, but also cats are nocternal which means they should sleep during the day and be awake at night.

I wouldn't be worried unless his breathing continues being "weird" and if he doesn't get better I would at least call the vet and ask them what to do.

Cats do sleep a lot in general, something like 18 hours a day, and they mostly active at night, so for the 6 hours they're up and doing something, it could be while you're sleeping.

Cats also tend to breathe a bit louder while sleeping (the same way we breathe louder or even snore), so I'd say that's normal.

You could contact your vet if anything gets worse.

Has the vet checked his respiratory system and listened to his breathing?

Did he just take his vaccinations? That may be why.
