At around 6 miles today on my run..... the back, outer part of my right knee felt as if it was out of place. It didn't hurt, but was unusually uncomfortable. It was as if my knee felt a little out of place and wanted to lock up. I'm conditioned to running these distances and haven't had this problem before. I walked the rest of the way home and only felt it if I was walking at a brisk pace.... I have absolutely no discomfort now, but I'm afraid it might happen again on my next run. Anyone else ever had this problem? What is it?

I'm a crosscountry runner and I had that problem before. It was frustrating because I didn't feel comfortable running anymore. The problem came up when I incresed my milege. I had to cut down my milege in half and ice the back part of my knee after each run. I suggest that you shoulld take it easy when running and ice where it hurts after each run, untill it feels better you can go back to your normal ways. Remember to streach very good before running.

My friends knee does that a lot after running, she felt as if it was tight & giving out.

You might have pulled something, before you run or do any physical activity stretching your legs out & massaging the knee area might help.

You should check with a Doctor also to see if you have any knee troubles & if you can do something about it.

Definitely time for a few days off to let it heal up. Don't know why, maybe you increased your speed or mileage too fast. Don't really matter. Rest and stretching and ice.

Good Luck
