i have a cockatiel he is 7, you need a cadge with bars that go across not up and down as they love climbing. you should be able to get a good sized one for around £40 or look in adds in local papers. it is true that they like company, but they will bond with humans just as well as mine has (dont think he knows he is a bird) everyone who visits says hes bril, they live a long time, and are worth the effort

go to birdcages4less.com they have them way cheaper than pet stores. Cages suitable for a cockatiel range from about 60 to 200 dollars depending on size and accessories

It depends on what kind of cage you're looking for.Cockatiels need space since they are about medium sized. You also have to buy food, toys, and treats for your bird. All of this times about 20+ years.

You can check out yard sales, the white sheet, thrift shops and bird farms etc.
But to purchase a new one, if you don't need a fancy one they run about $65 plus the seed and a few toys.

Maybe try eBay? Postage might be expensive though. Cockatiels should ideally have the company of another bird, couldn't you get 2 of them?

They're all prices depending on how fancy you get, none are real cheap. Hit the garage sales.
