Thanks. I need a data acquisition device which can read and log dc current and voltages.

You will need a shunt to measure the current. This is a small resistance placed in series with eth DC current and will allow you to monitor a small voltage in proportion to the current flow.

There are some cheap DAQ units which you may find which are limited to 0-10V input. In cases like these you can use a voltage divider as an interface to these DAQ's

For a small stand alone DAQ check out the HOBO by Onset computers

You seem to be talking about a 24 VDC storage battery. The most cost-effective of these is the common lead-acid battery. 24 V batteries come in a variety of sizes, the most common being used on "self-starting" diesel engines (large trucks, earth movers, etc.). Some electric forklifts may use this voltage, although I believe 12 VDC is mor common.

If you are looking for data aquisition devices capable of measuring 50 A and 24 V, that's a whole different ball game. "The map is not the territory".
