Your first step should be a vet visit. This way you know for sure what the cause of the rash is. The vet will be able to tell you for sure what is going on and will also give you the best treatment options. Poor Dog:( I hope he feels better soon. Good luck

bath the dog with what ever and then get to the vets.
The rash could be a flea allergy or something else and until yo know what it is it shouldn't be treated.
The best shampoo for now would be sulfadene it helps with itching and the lather and water is really what kills the fleas but sulfadene is good for itching and soothing.
A vet is the only one who can determine what is causing the rash.
I've seen sulfodene sold at grocery stores in the pet dept., pet shops and vet offices.

Go to the vet first.

But if you are looking for a gentle, soothing shampoo get something with oatmeal. Try to stick to shampoos with as many natural ingredients and as few harsh chemicals as possible.

Don't put anything on the pup until you see a vet. You can never know for sure what something is and what products will make the problem worse.

Take him to the vet first- your vet should be able to diagnose the cause of the rash and prescribe appropriate flea treatment. If you put the wrong thing on irritated skin, it can get worse. Please get professional guidance. Many of the flea treatments that are not provided by vets can be ineffective and in the worst case, toxic to your pet. You don't want the poor thing to suffer any more than he already is. Good luck!

You should go to the vet. There are medicated shampooes to help with skin issues, and I'm sure there are some RX ones your vet could provide.
Bless your heart for taking on such a responsibility.

Start with a bath in dawn dish soap to clean him up enough to go to the vet. Then, they can tell you the best thing to use and probably sell it to you right there.

if i was you i would take him to the vet to be checked ! then they will tell you whats the best thing to do for him...if you take him to the p.d.s.a then you will only have to make a donation !

I'd use Dawn dish soap because they wash rescued wildlife with it safely.
