and all they can tell you is "Because the Bible says so," or "you got to have faith," is that really a good answer? What if you have questions about the ver veracity of the Bible itself, and they tell you to look it up in the Bible, isn't that avoiding the questions? Or shoud we just accept everything in "blind faith?" Am I damned to suffer eternity in hell because I don't have enough faith?

Well, my theory is that some Christians give those answers because they don't know. No, I don't think it's a good answer. It wasn't good enough for me, anyway. Fortunately, there are better answers out there.

Check out this:

A) Did you know that in the Bible, there is a numerical code that, when the letters are translated back to their original Old Hebrew meaning in which they also represent numbers, the rows of numbers add up to 7,11,7,11,7,11 etc. This continues on in an "impossible" way, when you calculate the odds of this occurring naturally in someone's speech, the odds total up to 7 billion, and the odds of this occurring naturally? 11 trillion. UNEXPLAINABLE, this shows God's renown influence on the Bible. God spoke through many men in many different ages, This shows He is BEYOND time.THE CODE IS HIS SIGNATURE!

B) Also Beginning in the book of revelations, where this verse occurs, " Let him who has an ear understand, calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, that number is 666.", every 666th translated letter spells out,
Satan The Accuser.

C) Another example: When translated for their meanings in old Hebrew, all the names from the Old Testament when placed simultaneously, spell out a complete story of Christ, which I can't remember specifically, but starts off, "I will appoint a man, a man of sorrow..."

All I want is for people to see what has been there all along.

There are proofs placed in the bible=Acts records over 500 witnesses of the resurrection of Jesus. The testimony of the soldiers paid off to say his body was stollen, and that they would be protected from the death penalty-which was the penalty for losing what you were suppose to guard.
The New Testament is Jesus last will and testament.
This is what brought me to have faith/trust in Jesus=this is how I as a Jew came to know Jesus personally

"Unto us a child is born, a son is given, and he will be the mighty God, and the prince of peace." Isaiah 9:6

the answer is still in the salvation of the soul-till then we are on the outside looking in. Revelation 22 "Do not add to my word or take from it or you will receieve plagues, and never find salvation.

this is how I got salvation-believing the Word of God="I love you, and ask you to repent of your sins (even one lie) quickly. Behold I stand at your heart door and knock if you hear my words and ask me in, I will come in and be your friend." Revelation 1:1=Jesus words spoken from heaven & 3:19&20

so i prayed "Jesus I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen."

Now Jesus is my Messiah, Bright and morning star, best friend, and savior, he comforts and keeps me, and His word has become the love letter of my life in Spirit and in truth.

Praying the best for you too, David

The Bible is a self-authenticating book, is my understanding.

To get proof that the Bible is true, all you do is read it; and it tells you the proof of its own truth.

Now I ask you how many books can do that? That is a really amazing thing. I am impressed, sort of.

yes it is a good answer when you know that you know that the Bible is LIVING & POWERFUL & when you understand that God is so powerful that He SPOKE all of life into existance & that He holds EVERYTHING together By the power of His word, than you come to the place where you realize that the word of God is all that..... so when God says it. I just believe it because He stands by His word!

How do you explain Jesus' disciples dying for that truth? (11 killed / 1 exiled) It would be hard to believe they would have died for a lie. Even more, they left everything to go spread the word with boldness & power from heaven.

It is true.
