The best thing to do is not leave him outside unattended. It is rare that someone will be willing to break into your home to steal one dog. Generally, thieves are lazy and are looking for a dog tied in a yard or left alone (no one home) in a fenced in yard. As long as you are with your dog anytime it is outside, you shouldn't have a problem!
Good luck and enjoy your pup!

It's ridiculous all the hype about blue Pits...they aren't all that rare and many have skin problems.
Don't leave him unattended. Don't let people know where you live. Drive to areas to walk him perhaps rather than walking him around your neighborhood.
There is a GPS collar, but that could be taken off of him if he were actually stolen.
I'd say make sure your house and yard are secure. Put up security lights if needed. If your neighbors seem nice, get to know them and give them your phone number so they can call you if they notice anybody checking out your house in a suspicious way.
Ask your local police if there have been problems with dogs being stolen also ask animal control. Ask for their suggestions to keep your house and dog safer.
We started a neighborhood watch program here and the cops came and gave us some good ideas and told us even tho the neighborhood is sometimes bad my complex is fairly safe.

best thing to do is keep him with you at all times.don't leave him outside shops and stuff like that ! and if you got a garden then just keep a close eye on him...the blue nose pit is a beautiful dog and i understand your concern...i mean yeah its OK getting a dog chipped but you will only get it back if the person takes it to a vet ! and most people these days breed the dog and sell it and the pups.and wanna fight the dog for money until he is no use and then abandons it !!

Don't ever let him out unattended. Not even in a fenced in yard. That's a very popular breed to get stolen. Just always be with him.
A tattoo in his ear may be of more help than a microchip. Lots of shelters don't have scanners, a tattoo can be seen very easily and anyone can see it not just someone with a scanner.

microchips really arent that good for a help unless he's lost and someone finds him and wants to return him. They cant track your pet down, its jsut liek having dog tag on that you cant see.
Keep an eye on him and dont let him out without you, not to run to the back yard to pee or anything until he's seven months old (thats when they look old enough to fend for themselves).

Neuter him. People will be much less likely to steal a neutered dog.
