You can get disposable contacts for as little as $15 bux a box at Wal-Mart or if you purchase online you can get a year's supply for $125 bux (standard no frills). Depends on your prescription and type of lens. Prices are all over the board.

Good things: No glasses (except the back up pair). I see better through contact lenses, they're more comfortable for me. I have no trouble with dealing with sunglasses when I wear my lenses. Less distortion - the lens is ON your eye not near your eye.

Bad things: I don't have any - although some folks find them uncomfortable and a pain to deal with. I switched to contacts 20 years ago, never a regret. There's always: You do have to be fastidious with your hygiene. If you get something in your eye and you're wearing contacts... ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch OUCH. :x

Disposables rock. I wouldn't wear contacts if I had to wear hard ones.

Good things,
you can behave like you have no glasses, that is, use a camera or normal sunshades (sun glasses) and if you want make-up,
you only need to buy a lens for the eye that need corrections if the other one does not
rain and steaming are no problem.

Bad things,
cost,
the need to keep them clean,
you have to take them out at night and put them in in the morning (took me an hour the second day I wore it, and I only had to do one eye, no correction needed on the other eye,)
you have to see the specialist (either a doctor or someone in a good shop) to check your eyes at least once a year.

if you like to know about the cost of wearing contact lenses, you can shop around the lens stores at your local city. And also you need to search online stores. http://www.lenscompare.com provides price comparison at 5 big online merchants.

the good thing is NO GLASSES!!!!!!!!!! bad part u have to put them in and clean them and put them back. and clean the contacts case and all that. but its worth it. but make sure to take care of ur contacts or u may get a eye infection or something like that. its worth all the trouble though trust me.

Prices vary depending on your needs. If you intend to buy online or by phone I strongly suggest to checkout this Food and Drug Administration website:(http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/contactlenses/buying.html) and (http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/contactlenses/lenslist.html). They have wonderful advice to the public on online or phone shopping. With those advice on hand you can checkout these websites:

Cost will depend on material used, who actually supplies them, if they are for long term use or disposables, and whether they are color enhanced, etc...

Good things. They improve your eyesight.

Bad things. You could be physically sensitive to them. They need to be properly cared for, to prevent infections, allergic reactions, etc...
