We thought that was a very good question in the 3rd grade. Perhaps you could think of one at an adult level. In any event the Supreme Being is unknowable to humanity. Jewish folklore may claim otherwise, but that's about it. No Catholic ever claimed to have met Him. As far as having to meet someone to know they exist...I can't even take that seriously.

Moses met God on Mount Sinai. John in the Bible / book of Revelations.
He saw God in his vision in Heaven. I saw Jesus in Heaven, a couple times in Heaven, two different dreams. I have communicated with the dead and proved it. So there is life after death. No Fairy tale.
My question is what do you have to loose by believing.
You only make it a fairy tale if you want but how was everything you have seen or beyond created.
If you can answer that and prove that he doesn't exist, then go for it. I don't know of anyone who has disproved God!
No one is forcing you to believe anything. Your choice.
Study and consider the consequences. Don't just except what others tell you including me. If you seek, you will find answers. I only know what I have experienced and that is beyond me and my ability to explain or imagine. How could there not be a creator? How could there not?

You are entitled to believe the way that you believe but I believe that there's a god as I have experienced some things in my life. I was an Agnostic then I became an Agnostic Theist and now I'm a believer. The reason why you feel the way that you do is because you haven't experienced anything that you feel would convince you to believe. Which is okay. The only thing that I can suggest to you is for you to pray and ask God to show you some sort of sign. Have a great day. :-)

Yes God is not there for those who don't seek him
Read this
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving a God who would allow all of these things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber “You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."
"Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
But You are not searching Him
I see Him in You
I see Him in babies
I see Him in Love
I see Him in sorrow
I see Him in Help
I see Him in all around me

Because, some believe that he left his signature on Earth years ago. PLEASE keep an open mind to this, maybe it will help you believe that the Bible was written by God, this first code in the Bible is what I would call his signature!:
A) Did you know that in the Bible, there is a numerical code that, when the letters are translated back to their original Old Hebrew meaning in which they also represent numbers, the rows of numbers add up to 7,11,7,11,7,11 etc. This continues on in an "impossible" way, because when you calculate the odds of this occurring naturally in someone's speech, the odds total up to 7 billion, and the odds of this occurring naturally? 11 trillion. UNEXPLAINABLE, and this happens all throughout the Bible, even though it was written by many separate men in many time periods. This shows God's renown influence on the speech of men from BEYOND time!
B) Also Beginning in the book of revelations, where this verse occurs, " Let him who has an ear understand, calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, that number is 666.", every 666th translated letter spells out,
Satan The Accuser.
C) Another example: When translated for their meanings in old Hebrew, all the names from the Old Testament when placed simultaneously, spell out a complete story of Christ, which I can't remember specifically, but starts off, "I will appoint a man, a man of sorrow..."
All I want is for people to see what has been there all along.

have you ever asked this question from yourself:
can god create a rock that he could not be able to pick it up??
this is a yes /no question so if you go for yes:
he can not pick up a rock means he doesnt have the power to do so and as a result he can not be god.
and if you say no:
he is not able to create every thing so his not a god .
you see?well actually i do agree with you and tend to believe that the word GOD seem really meaningless and religoins were suitable for ancesters ,however there are people trying to elude lonliness ,get relax,be closer to the word "death"To name but a few and need to believe in the word GOD .
and when they are trying to persuade you that there is an observing god they just chage in to some redneck people not being able to bear your sensible reasons
you know what they say there must be a creater to create you and i repled well seems logical and who will create that creature ?you see they got no answer

It must be a hard life to not believe in anything until you touch it. Think of all the foreigners that don't exist because you haven't met them.

On the contrary! A great many people have met God, which is precisely why they DO believe in Him! You can meet Him too. Just say, "God, if you are real, reveal yourself to me". God has promised, "whoever asks will receive; whoever seeks will find". He is faithful to His promises. What do you have to lose? You have everything to gain!

Not true.
Moses met God. Many people have met Christ and/or Angels.
You can prove God the same way we establish facts about people, in a court of Law.
Unless you can prove each and every one of the millions who witness speaking to Christ or Angels are lying.
