I'm about 30 yrs old, good looking, easy going, graduated from a top-MBA program and have a dream job lined up after school. But I have trouble meeting girls and sustaining their interest. I have always been concious about the slight stutter in my speech - when I speak to people, I get the feeling that some of them mistake this for nervousness (true in some cases, but totally not in other cases). Sometimes, I can visibly tell that people are "trying to figure me out" and wondering what's wrong with me if I'm not able to pronounce certain words right. This happens on dates as well. My last relationship lasted about 3 years, but I broke up with the girl because I realized that I wasn't crazy about her. I want to meet someone that's a load of fun to be, genuine, passionate and hot. But most of these types of girls are taken already and I'm not meeting girls that I'm excited to go on dates with. So, #1: girls, would you date a stutterer? and #2: what's a good place to meet girls?

There are girls who don't care if a man stutters as all of my uncles have wonderful wives. Several cousins are married; others are dating. All of my family members who stuttered got help throught The Stuttering Foundation and their book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" and one uncle also went to a speech therapist who specialized in treating stuttering. He found her through the Foundation, too.

HMMMMM... Typically I would prefer not to but I would not be shallow enough to dump someone (or stop dating someone) because of that. I actually sttuter here an there because of nervousness alos, even though I usually do not. Most people do not even say anytthing to me about it. I notice that when I do, it is usually because I am so nervous and/or do not feel comfortable around that person. I feel like it is my "gut" intuition that this person is either TRYING to make me uncumfortable by intimidating me, or I AM THE ONE that needs to work on my confidence level and stand up to this person (or simply just be myself and relax :)). Son in conclusion, YES I would date someone who stutters slightly as long as they are exactly waht you are looking for( someone very nice, patient, kind, alot of fun to be with and gorgeous or atleast close to that). Also, maybe the girls you are seekign out are not right for you because if they would not date you for a slight speech impetement.. than they aren;t good for you anyway, right? Secondly, a good place to meet people is at the bookstore, museums, and places that you have a favorite hobby (example: maybe a comic store, the movies).

Well, sounds to me like you have alot to offer some lucky lady..

So, to answer your question, yes, I'd date a stutterer.. and a good place to meet women... how about anywhere.. grocery store, bookstore, library, work, a park.. You sound too smart to pick up a lady from a bar or club.

Sometimes it's good to be single, enjoy every minute of it.. try some light dating.. don't rush into anything.. Someday the right lady will just pop up out of nowhere for ya..

trust me!

My husband stutters. It has not held him back. He has always been very confident and outgoing. But there are new, effective methods of speech pathology which can help stutterers. One that I have read about involves reading out loud for a certain period every day. You should look into this if the stuttering bothers you this much.
Good luck.

Yes, I don't see why I wouldn't The best way to meet girls is to do what you like to do. Join things that interest you, sailing, baseball team, bowling, painting, helping children, volunteering at what you like and you will meet someone that have at least some of the same interests.

Yeah I would, there isn't anything wrong with stuttering.
Oh and zipps_86 get a effin life, don't come on here insulting people. Anyway, you could join a club(s), or maybe meet a woman through a friend, like your mates, girlfriends friend. If you get that, anyway don't give up everyone has someone somewhere. Good Luck.

of course, if he is a good person and we enjoyed each other - there is no telling where the love of your life will show up! It could be in church, in the library, at the grocery store, at a museum, in a restaurant. I met mine at the library.
