I have a 5 month old puppy named Dalles and she is very sweet, loves everyone, and picks up on training very well. Everyhting about her is perfect except for the fact that when we go outside she feels the need to greet everyone who walks by and is constanly pulling at the leash to get somewhere else. This problem stemp from being hyper and I was wondering if anyone knows any ways I could calm her down before she drives me absolutly crazy?

obedience training immediately.

Jack Russells need lots of exercise, Shepherds also. The very nature of a terrier is high strung. If you train Dalles you can channel her energy into acceptable behavior.

You have to create a structure so Dalles knows when it is acceptable to play and other times you are in charge.

Your little dog will love you more when she knows for sure that you are her leader.

Jack Russell's are hyper. sounds like your mix got the hyper part. best thing to do is train her to be calm by praising her when she is and telling her no when she is not. good luck. I lucked out on my chow/ridgeback mix in that she got the laid back of the ridgeback and not the temperament of the chow.

I have a Border Collie which is a bolt of lightning. They aren't considered hyper but highly energetic. You literally have to take them out and get them running and doing things til they're so worn out thay're ready to drop. These types of dogs that you and I have are not for everyone.

Give her lots of excercise and when she is overwhelmed do basic training, like sit, down, stay etc.
