Hitler was a Christian. Gandhi wasn't. According to Christian beliefs, Hitler's gone to heaven, and Gandhi's in hell.

I'm sorry guys, but if that's the way it's set up, I'd rather go to hell.

Who's with me?

I'd certainly prefer to spend eternity with Gandhi.

Bush and Hitler can have heaven, thanks anyhow.

Quite so, I'm afraid. What amazes me is how so many Christians circumvent the question either by stating that anyone can get into heaven if they believe in Jeebus EXCEPT Hitler (I bet Stalin and Pol Pot are having a blast up there), or by stating complete falsehoods (Hitler renounced Christianity before he died?? I think not!). They hem and haw and then slip back into the old "stop talking like that or you're going straight to hell bit". It's sad to watch. And then when someone actually makes a true statement regarding their religion that they can't face (Gandhi in hell, of course, he's no Christian, or Hitler in heaven) they suddenly act 'persecuted'. Hexley said something interesting about this in a question of mine - that for people who believe in God motivation must overwhelm determinism. This way, even though it is absolutely CERTAIN that an omnipotent god has it predetermined whether or not we go to hell, they continue to call it 'free choice'.

Here's the thing, friends - morality does not come from religion. Therefore one could live a moral and good life, be charitable, kind, compassionate, and still wind up in hell. If this same person chose to believe the tenets of Christianity there is still a 50/50 chance he or she will go to hell - because God already has it predestined. By your own theory it doesn't really matter whether or not one believes in Jesus because God has already determined his/her fate. Let's say I'm destined for hell and my atheistic spirit calls to me on my deathbed "He is Risen! Jesus is the Son of God!" and there and then I repent and believe... will this give me a ticket to heaven? NO. God has already closed the book on me and I'm hellbound. It wouldn't be any different if I never believed at all or if I had believed my whole life.

Good question, Girl Wonder, you friggin' hottie.

Well, no. Gandhi didn't have his body thrown into the trash heap in a valley just outside the city walls of Jerusalem (Sheol, later mis-portrayed as a place of eternal fire and torment), so he cannot be in "hell".

As for Hitler - if "Heaven" is where he is, I have no intention of joining him there.

That's a misconception that most Christians tend to make. Chritianity is not defined by the religion but with having a relationship with God. As for most of the people who claim to be one and aren't excercising what they should be like the Bible says aren't true Christians. You can't declare to be something and following doctrines that oppose your beliefs that's just bogus. As for being in heaven (whether Christian, Muslim, Jews, etc), we can't say who's in heaven b/c none of us have been there.

Those who think Hitler is in heaven sure enough don't know enough of their religious beliefs. We personally can't judge anyone for their deeds, we do our part here on earth and leave the rest to God to judge on judement day. We all fall short in life, we can't leave that aside and get into other people's businesses trying to be God and all -that's just wrong. Me personally igrew up a Christian but i don't believe in any of that non-sense.

For all i care i have my own life issues to deal with i would sympathy with most but each choice a person makes is theirs alone. I can't make them a Christian, a ****, a hetero, black, asian, or whatever. We are here on earth to excercise our free will and we can sure use that to help others by being kind, caring, etc. to them and show how compassionate mankind can be towards each other. Hitler and all others have come down through history and we seen how they treated others. Hitler is now hated for killing inoccent people while Ghandi is hail as a person of a higher spiritual rank.

What we have to remember is that these individuals were humans just as we are and that based on the knowledge we acquired from such individuals we can prepare to do better in our lives and others' as well and we can't see them as either people of higher or lower ranking than we are.

As for those Christians who think there is an eternal fire of hell, i would say read your Bibles. It doesn't talk about any eternal torment in hell or any nonsense as such. What it does say is that God will judge according to each indivdual's deeds. And for those who abuse their free will choices by mistreating others will be punished for their acts. The eternal torment here is that these individuals will not be resurrected spiritually but will burn in the hell's fire comepletely to death, not continue being tormented in hell. There's no such thing!

However, before Judgement Day there will be The Day of The Lord. On this day God will give people who have not accepted salvation a chance to do so. That would basically mean either Hitler, Ghandi, Stalin, etc. can either choose to be saved or die an eternal death if they choose so.

Hope that enriches your understanding, remain blessed.

I once read a Chick tract similar to this. There was an outlaw who murdered a lot of people, but then he repented and went to heaven. The lawman who brought him to justice and hanged him was an atheist and he went to hell. I doubt that's how it works though. It says you can kill how ever many people you want, and you can still get into heaven as long as you repent. I don't find Chick tracts to be useful for anything except toilet paper.

They're both in hell. Hell is simply the common grave of mankind. There is no fiery hell, as false Christianity would have you believe. The Bible never said that eternal torment would be the punishment for disobedience. When God pronounced judgement on Adam and Eve he said: "For dust you are and to dust you will return." (Genesis 3:19)

Hitler didn't follow Christ. That's obvious. He's in hell.

Ghandi? I don't know. God knew his heart. He didn't become a Christian because he saw how the Christians lived their lives. As hypocrites. One of his quotes was "I like your Christ but not your Christians".

According to Christian beliefs, GOD determines that. Not us.

Hitler made it to heaven because the Mormon baptized him after he killed all those people. They have this crazy idea that if someone is baptism into there church after death they will then go to heaven.

Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven?

The only way heaven could work according to the usual spin is if all the residents were mind-wiped. I'd take hell over that any day.

Hitler's actions were not of a Christian but whether or not either of them are in heaven I do not know. It's possible for a person to except Christ before they die and I believe that God gives everyone one last chance to except him just before dying.
