I hear you. You didn't say how old you were. The older you get the harder it is to lose weight. But there is really only one way to do it---decrease what you eat and increase your activity. Keep a journal and write down all the foods you eat and the exercise you do. Keep your foods down to low fat and low carb. Also keep the sugar levels down.
Drink water often throughout the day. If you don't like water--drink crystal lite. The object is to fill you up and also keep your system active.

Find exercise that you really like. If for example you start using a treadmill and find it boring you will stop it fairly soon.

Limit your time in front of the tv and the computer.

I know I gained weight because I am on the computer way too much and I stopped my agressive exericise regime.
Good luck

Aw Cristal I'm sorry that you feel like this! With some hard work you will feel better and look how you want! I would recommend trying Weight Watchers - this way you are losing weight at a healthy rate. If you try any crash course diet it will harm your body so you want to make sure you go about it the right way. Plus if you crash-diet you will lose weight quickly but it will be impossible to keep it off. Weight Watchers helps you take it off and keep it off. Also, with the summer weather approaching try going to walk daily and then each day make it a little further and slowly start to pick it up into a run.

It is going to take time, you will need to be patient but it is the healthest way for your body to lose the weight and best way to keep it off. Good Luck!

I will assume you are older than 20.
First thing you need to realize is you will not lose 50 lb in one week.
Set a goal of 1 or 2 lbs each week.
Watch what you eat. Make sure you eat ONLY when your hungry (IE: you hear your stomach growl), and not just because you wanted something to munch on, or are upset or bored.
Work out in a gym, or at home.
You can buy some work out cd's if you would not be comfortable in a gym.
It took you 2 years to put the weight on, it will take some time for you to take it off.
Just keep trying!!!

Alright, since everyone else has answered, I'll give my 2 cents worth.

First everyone who says you have to reduce your calories is correct. Talk to your doctor, but usually a woman needs 1800 or less calories a day. I wouldn't drop below 1500 in any case or you will enter "starvation mode" and store fat instead of burn fat. Also, watch the types of foods you eat. Here's the tricky part. Obviously avoid sugars and sugary foods and drinks. If you love sodas, switch to diet. Water is better, but boring. Also, the 8 glasses of water thing isn't medically correct. The human body gets most of the water from the food we eat, so you really need about 3 glasses of water a day. However, the more water you drink, the more full your stomach is and you won't be tempted to snack. Also, cold water takes more calories to process (raise the temperature in the body) than warm water or drinks. Eating low fat or low carbs or high protien or whatever is only a way to make you THINK about what and when you're eating. I used a low carb diet to lose about 50 lbs and my friend used the same diet and lost 100 yes 100 lbs in less than a year. The most important part was eating less food per meal and exercise.

Remember your stomach isn't really that big. When you over eat, you stretch it out and it takes more food to fill it. If you look at the food on your plate and imagine smashing it down to a big lump, it shouldn't be bigger than your fist. A healthy stomach is only the size of your fist. Crazy, huh? You can eat things like rice that expands in the stomach and makes you feel full, but isn't really a lot of food. It's mostly water and fiber. Remember tricks like that.

Finally comes exercise. You can try any exercise you think you'll actually stick with. My friend loves jogging. I like a little of everything so I use P90X. You can research it at www.p90x.com and I know that sounds like a commercial, but it really works for me. I love it. Just remember this, when you do any workout, burning fat and getting LEAN muscle is stronger reps and less of them. NOT MORE. Don't do more than about 8 to 10 reps of anything to look trimmer and leaner. More reps with less weight makes LARGE muscle and that's not what you really want. Ask any weight training instructor in the world and they'll tell you the same thing. Also really remember to work the abs out every Other day. The abs need rest like every muscle group, but once they're in shape they burn fat all by themselves. Muscle burns fat. Period.

Try not to worry about any supplements or diet pills. The human body is the ultimate workout machine. It's a set of free weights built right in. Don't push yourself at first. Ease into it and remember healthy living and losing weight takes time! Don't get frustrated. Set a goal of a year and you'll be suprised how fast it goes.

I know you're really upset now, but just setting a goal and trying to acheive it will make you feel better. As always, I hope this helps.
Steve

Most importantly you have to use more calories than you consume. You must exercise and watch your diet at the same time. For exercising, you have to get out and at least walk 15-20 minutes a day, even when you don't want to until it becomes a habit. Whatever the exercise though, you will not see results immediately; you need to give it at least two weeks. At the same time you have to gradually reduce the calories you are consuming, particularly fat calories. Not to quickly though because if you do, your body will think it is starving and store more fat (since your body is used to consuming more than it needs). You have to cut your calorie intake slowly while slowly beginning to exercise and within a month you WILL see positive results, you just have to be patient.

PS- I recommend doing it slowly so that you develop good habits with results that will last you a while.

if u really want to lose weight u will. U have to limit ur food and pick a right HEALTHY diet. Don't eat when u know ur about to go to sleep. Do excercise like going for a jog every morning. it doesn't have to be big just for an hour and u will get use to it. U should cut your eating portion in half. Don't eat snacks betwwen meals. Eat fruits instead. Also don't be lazy. Just make sure u don't push yourself over ur limit, like don't go crazy early. Losing weight is also a mental thing, u r going to be tempted, just resist them.

Go to your local Barnes and Noble and check out the South Beach Diet or Body for Life. You should eat right and excercise. Don't starve yourself because it will screw up your metabolism and make things worse. Try to walk in the mornings for starters. It's tough. But hang in there. You will feel a lot better. Body for Life is excellent. Don't just diet. Diet AND Exercise. Good Luck.

That's a large goal you are going to try to succeed. If you want to reach 125 pounds, you will have to lose 50 pounds. But it would take a while to lose. Maybe if you take some supplements (pills) you could get thinner in no time. But if you are 17 or younger, forget I even said that. ^^ You should ask your parents (if you are 17 or younger) to buy you this workout video called "Hip-Hop Abs". It is a workout video that gives you all kinds of different workouts. So far, I have lost 6 pounds on the first 3 workouts!

Relax, Honey- It's not impossible, but you need a little help.

If there is a Curves gym in your area, join it. Another friend of mine who was in a position like yours did, and she loves it!

Now- for a while, I had gained more weight than I really needed too. But I was also dealing with a relationship that was very bad for me, so I suppose it could be expected. Once I shook myself free, I started learning to steam foods rather than fry them, and to eat what I needed rather than as much as I could to avoid feeling guilty. I started enjoying fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grains and honey. And the weight dropped off.

Good luck! I'll be on the sidelines cheering for you!
