It's more like your feelings for him have changed, and the feelings are what's not what they used to be.
You can't go back and recapture the old feelings, and getting back together can seem like an attempt to do that.
If you can't think of it as moving forward in a new context instead of going back to the same old relationship, it won't work.

I have recently did a backwards leap to an ex and it was not worth it in my case. What you need to do is ask your self what you really want and need in your life? You need to thank hard about the qualities you want in your mate? You need to be open and honest with yourself. You can put paint on an old object and like it better but the same object is under all the paint.

i agree. people will change and if it is a long term relationship- change can be exciting and positive. some people can't make it through the changes in life with a partner. if the changes are positive and you love the person welcome them- relationships take a whole lot of work. its a give and take and its hard to change for the better -so support the positive and expect some differences if it was a sincere change in the heart!

That all depends on you. What did you want him to change about himself? And has he? And your sure that this is final, and he wont change back? Ask yourself those questions.
