If you dress up for church, do you wear your church clothes all day?
Although it can be taken to the extreme and can become legalistic and Pharisaic, I still admire the tradition of wearing your best clothing to church on Sunday to honor God. I have heard that some continue this practice at home after church is over to help keep a worshipful and respectful mood. Has anyone done this and do you find it helpful?

I am out of my Church clothes as soon as I get home ! How does staying in my Church clothes keep me in a worshipfull mood ? God looks on the heart, not on the outward appearance anyway !

Well, I don't always dress up for church, because it's not required. Most people at my church wear jeans, including the pastor. However, when I DO dress up for church, I change when I get home unless I'm wearing something really comfortable. On Easter, I didn't change out of my dress, and yes, it did help. The service was amazing, and the feeling stayed with me all week. Staying in my Easter dress kept me feeling like it really WAS the Sabbath, all day.

Sometimes I keep them on all Sunday depending what I am doing afterwards. I am a blue collar worker so I don't get to dress up that often other than Church every Sunday! I like going out for breakfast before services and afterwards go shopping, visiting friends and family or going for a walk if it is nice outside. I get tired of wearing t-shirts jeans and sneakers on a regular basis!

Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. Kind of depends what's going on in the afternoon. If I have church service that evening, then I will. If not, and I'm planning to say, barbecue or engage in some other outdoor activity, when then I'll change. Despite what you're wearing, you should still have a worshiper's attitude.

It depends on what I'm doing after church. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I don't see how nice clothes would bring anyone closer to God.

Well it matters if you are going to brunch or lunch then yes. Or if you have plans for dinner later that day then yes. Also if you are praying with friends during the day or praying for a loved one then also yes. I haven't really done this much except when I went to a party for my cousins communion after that. Hope I helped.

I don't dress up for church. I'm not christian, but my family is, so I'm forced to go. Hate it. But I just wear casual clothes....

No I don't...never thought of it as a way to honour God. I suppose it would be helpful as long as I didn't have to do any house work
