in a religious capacity is defined as: worshipful honor, to adore or venerate..

Do you think that the title Reverend is an appropriate term for the religious leaders who take on that name and title.
Do you agree or disagree that this title in a religious sense should be given to only God?

Did not Christ say we are all to be called brothers/sisters (brethren)

Pastor is from the latin word to teach or serve. A pastor would be an elder in the Church who would oversee fellow members and offer spiritual assistance.

The meaning of the term reverent again and the question in a religious capacity.
If we are to give others the title Reverend then why not all fellow members the same title which denotes worshipful honor?
Does not God alone deserve worshipful honor?.

Pastor actually comes from the Latin word PASTOR, through French, which is a shepherd. It is a title relating to the man's function within the church. WE are the FLOCK, the pastor guides the flock as a "deputy" of Jesus who owns the flock.

The TITLE "reverend" also comes from Latin ("reverendus") meaning "worthy of respect, or honor". Scripture commands that we HONOR men who merit it, but also distinguishes between reverence and worship. We worship God alone.

REVERENCE is a different word entirely, even though it shares the same root as reverend.

Reverend is an adjective meaning deserving reverence.

Reverence is
+ A feeling of profound awe and respect and often love
+ An act showing respect
+ Not worship

We can revere our spouse, our parents, our grandparents, a new born baby, or an ordained minister without worshiping them.

The Ten Commandments tells us to honor our parents.

Honor means high respect, esteem, or reverence.

We always need to be careful not to put anything or anyone in front of God in our lives.

But giving people the respect and honor they deserve as being created in God's image and/or being part of the Body of Christ on Earth is part of loving one another as Christ loved us.

With love in Christ.

Reverent is:

feeling or showing profound respect or veneration; "maintained a reverent silence"
godly: showing great reverence for god; "a godly man"; "leading a godly life"

It is simply a title of respect and it is not deifying them.

They followed a calling and are worshiping God not exalting themselves.
