High School diploma, hands down.
A GED's purpose is to prove you have high school-level knowledge; so there's nothing a GED proves that a diploma doesn't prove.
However, a diploma shows more than the GED. While the GED shows you have the knowledge, a diploma shows you have the knowledge, the work ethic, the study skills and the experience of long-term learning.
You won't find any college-type program that accepts the GED but not a diploma; but you'll find plenty that accept diplomas but not GEDs.

The area in which you live probably requires a certain amount of required curriculum to graduate. Even as a home schooler you have to meet those criteria. When you have completed these and passed then you will be issued a high school diploma.
GED's are often used by individuals who dropped out of high school, yet need to have at least a high school degree to get a job or apply to college. My sister dropped out of highschool when she was 16 and just took her GED test at age 35 because she went to college.
If you can get the high school diploma I would go for that. I think it looks better on your resume'.
The GED is a test that evaluates your reading, writing and math skills.

There are actually many jobs nowadays that will not hire you with only a GED...A high School Diploma is really the way to go! My husband's brother is a "techie" and he has a GED. He has had some problems finding a job that he really likes because many of these places wouldn't consider him even though he is definitely qualified....DEFINITELY go for the Diploma!!
And since you are a homeschooler, check with your state and county to find out about doing college courses along with your high school...My county started allowing students to do this a couple of years ago and my brother graduated high school with almost a year's worth of college already finished!!
Hope this helps!!!

Obtain a high school diploma. The GED is supposed to be equivalent to a high school diploma but does not carry the same weight and status. A high school diploma speaks to your tenacity, ability, and perseverance in finishing a prescribed course of study for the required amount of years/the required subjects.
A high school diploma is the way to go1

Primo: high school diploma sounds better to most employers. Secondo: GED is sort of condensed version of the high school program. You can go to college with having only GED but the proper high school program is more of the true thing then the GED. But, if you're going to finish a respectable college program, especially a degree, that's going to be the most important part in the eyes of an employer.

Technically a GED and Diploma are the same thing, however the GED carries astigmatism with it that for some reason you didn't finish high school and got the GED instead. Really either is fine, and no one should discriminate if you have the GED, but their are the occasional people who think their really is a huge difference. Really I think some people have managed to graduate HS without the knowledge needed to get the GED. It's your choice, so do what you are most comfortable with.

Obviously, a high school diploma is better.
A GED is seen by employers as a failed high school student attempting to correct his/her mistake; a GED is the "dropout test" that people who cant hack it in high school take.
Years ago, if you dropped out of high school, the military was your best option. Now, the military tries not to even enlist people with a GED.

Defiantly a Diploma because an employer will think less of you with a GED unless you are a young single mother trying her best to make ends work.

High school diploma. Even if D- average, it proves the individual and tolerate instruction and distraction. I don't hire GED's and discriminate home schools with preference of public schools.
