What a wonderful question. Tearing up and smiling just thinking about it.
I love you is always nicest!
My 2 yr old told me the other day that he wants to be a squirrel when he grows up. (He also wants to be a "big daddy just like Daddy."
When he was 1 and 1/2 and I was getting ready to have one of our first "date nights" in about a year and a half with my hubby I asked my son how I looked (not expecting an answer) and he beamed and yelled "Mama Cute!"
And, just this morning as I left for work, I asked for a kiss goodbye and he (in his little way) explained he couldn't b/c he was a lion. I laughed and "roared" him a goodbye instead at which point he very seriously explained that he wasn't really a lion... he was just pretending. I suppose he thought I was worried.
:-)

Thanks for a great question, just sat here for ages reminiscing on all the things theyve said over the years.
A recent one was when we drove to Blackpool the other week, husband drove for the first hour and a half and i took the second hour and a half in which my youngest (3) feel asleep. He woke up just as we were driving in to Blackpool and we started oohing and aahing at everything to get him excited and he said in the most cute manner ever "Mummy thank you for driving me here so fast, daddy was so slow". (words to that affect I cant remember exactly how he put it but it sounded funnier when he said it)
The way he said it had us all in stitches.
I dont really think that anything can beat when they say they love you out of the blue.
Im so glad for you all that everything worked out good for you and well done you in bringing up such a great son in what must have been hard circumstances for you at times.

My children tell me all the time that I am the best mum in the world. They think me going through a fast food restaurant to get them a 40 cent ice cream is being spoilt and tell everyone I spoil them because of it (no big spending on unnecessary things in our house, they get presents at Christmas and birthdays and occasionally I will buy them books throughout the year) but most of all I love that my kids had to write what they respect and my son wrote he respects his mum. I love this. A s I say often if a kid cannot respect his mum then who can he respect

I was told that I wouldn't be able to conceive so when I found out I was pregnant I was thrilled and now I am 38 weeks pregnant with my second child. The nicest thing my first child (who is now three) has so far said to me is 'mummy' - it may not mean that much to some people but means the world to me as I never thought I would hear my own child say it.

I have a 5 year old daughter who is the light of my life (as are all 3 of my kids) and one time she ran out in the middle of the street after one of those big balls while a bus was coming down the road. I told her to stay in the yard but she didnt listen. My heart dropped to my feet I was so scared. Luckily the bus stopped in time. I ran out after her and I gave her a little swat on her bum. I felt horrible for it and a little later I was sitting at the kitchen table completely upset that I had spanked my daughter (that was the first and only time I've done that) and my little girl climbed up on my lap and gave me a big hug and said "it's ok daddy, I still love you" and then she kissed my cheek. My heart melted instantly. I always kiss her "boo boos" so she goes to me "daddy, you have to kiss my boo boo" then she bends over so I could kiss her butt. I laughed so hard.

My daughter asked me if I had been eaten by a dinosaur when I was younger! I am looking old for my years but that was pushing it a bit.
My son asked if I used an anti wrinkle cream they were advertising on the telly, and when I said yes, he asked me to phone them up and say it did not work properly.
Kids just have to love them.
