Theophilus, ´Elo·him' means, not "persons," but "gods." So those who argue that this word implies a Trinity make themselves polytheists, worshipers of more than one God. because it would mean that there were three gods in the Trinity. But nearly all Trinity supporters reject the view that the Trinity is made up of three separate gods.

seminary bum..."one being, three persons"????? Does that really ring true to you and conform to what the Bible really teaches?

John 17:3 plainly speaks of two separate beings and individuals....

"This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ" (Notice here Jesus himself speaks of someone other than himself as being the true God, and then adds himself...not as the true God....so to hold to the belief of the trinity makes Jesus a liar)

Where does it say anything about the holy spirit? This is not to down play the importance of the holy spirit because no one could ever gain accurate knowledge without it, but there is one true God, his name is Jehovah (Yahwey), and the Son, Jesus Christ...and God's active force, the holy spirit. There is no teaching of one being made up of 3 beings (what a contradiciton that makes out of everything!) in the Bible.

(Revelation 12:9) “. . .So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.”

Those teaching the false doctrine of the trinity are being mis-led by Satan, and they are falling into the following category....

(2 Corinthians 11:13-15) “. . .For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works.”

Why I can’t believe in the royal we, idea to Genesis 1:26 and 3:22,

If Jehovah talked with the royal we or us, etc, why did He only do it only 4-5 times.

Why didn’t He or doesn’t He continue to do to so through out the bible.

Why didn’t He use the royal we at Gen. 1:29, 30 only 3 verses later, or Gen. 2:18, Gen. 3:11, 15
and through out the rest of the bible? Why at Isa. 6:8, does Jehovah say “Whom shall I send”?

Job 38:4-7 shows that the angels were existing at the creation of man, so Jehovah wasn’t alone and had many spirit creatures to talk to.

Instead, which sounds more real and truthful, that Jehovah was talking to someone who is His Master Worker, His Firstborn Son, His Faithful Witness, who is His image, His exact representation, OR He was talking to Himself. (Prov. 8:30; Heb. 1:3; Col 1:15)

Bible scholar Donald E. Gowan said “There is no support in the O[ld] T[estament] for most of the proposed explanations: the royal ‘we,’ the deliberative ‘we,’ the plural of fullness, or an indication of a plurality of persons in the Godhead.

Why does the word Elohim according to Strong’s Cyclopaedia, when it applies to Jehovah means Supreme God, not Gods? Even when this word is applied to Moses (Ex. 4:16 & 7:1) it doesn’t mean that there are 3 Moses, it doesn’t even mean there are 2 Moses.

(Side point when Jesus said if you see me you see the Father, it is because he is the image of God, the exact representation of his Father. When you see an image in a mirror you are seeing a representation, not the actual person. Col 1:15)

(Side point, According to my college dictionary, begotten means “to be born”, to be born means “brought into life or being” when was Jesus brought into life, when he came to life as a baby? No, as Jehovah’s Firstborn of creation Col. 1:15; Rev 3:14)

God Is One. There are three components to God that make up the Trinity of Father - Son - Holy Spirit. He is All Powerful! Also Omnipresent! So why is it so hard to understand that a God Who Is Everywhere, can also be a Trinity?

Verse 1 and verse 2 taken together complete the concept of the Trinity. Three Persons, separate and distinct, each of Whom can speak individually; yet ONE God, who can therefore also speak in the singular.

This may shed some light on the Trinity, as understood by the early Christian Church:

He was obviously talking to Jesus when He said that. God being an omnipresent being and giving Jesus his essence and spirit does not make him a trinity nor a multitude but the Mighty loving God.

i don't believe the bible mentions the word trinity anywhere...man has decided to call GOD the Father, His only begotten Son, JESUS CHRIST, and GODS' Holy Spirit the trinity. i believe that GOD was speaking to JESUS in this particular verse, as JESUS helped in the creation...for the Word of GOD tells us that NOTHING was made without Jesus. and if HE weren't speaking to JESUS, then HE is using the us and we in the same manner that a king would, in the third person.

The Bible talks about "mystery". Mystery is the realm beyond the limits of the human mind. Mystery includes paradox, faith & facts.

Let's try to unravel the mystery a little (if possible), bit by bit:

1. In Genesis, the "Us" and "He" show that God is both one and many (a Trinity, as the rest of the Bible would apparently point to).

2. When God created man in His image, He created MALE and FEMALE! Genesis also talks about marriage binding a man and a woman together as one. So God's image (as reflected in humanity) shows a trinitarian nature...

3. Paul refers to the mystery of marriage (when 2 becomes 1), when talking about the Church as Christ's bride & how the Church and Christ are one. In that sense, the Church & marriage are trinitarian in nature.

4. Some parallels in the human world (never fully adequate, since the mystery is beyond finite human minds):
- Space is length, breadth & height (3 dimensions).
- Volume of a cube made up of 1cm sides is 1x1x1 = 1 cubic cm.
- At 4 degrees Celcius, water exists as liquid, vapor and ice.
- A male can be father, son and brother and relation to other men.
- You are spirit, mind (or soul) and body.

The facts are there, the paradox remains, but put them altogether with the 'glue' of faith and you get a glimpse of the answer...

As explained when the church council met--The trinity is the best example of God the Father--God the son--God the Holy Spirit. This has tried to be dispelled by changing God from Elohim to Jehovah. At the time of Jesus the term Elohim was used to describe God. by the Jewish people.

ELOHIM-- HEBREW NOUN IS PLURAL BUT THE VERB IS SINGULAR--THIS IS THE NORMAL USAGE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT WHEN REFERENCE IS TO THE ONE TRUE GOD

When a word become plural that word by defination become more than one thus, A PLURAL OF GOD NOT THREE GODS--UNDERSTAND HEWBREW and know that God is plural--NOT THREE GODS.
Check hermeneutics--Biblical interpretation. The only way God can be plural is the triunt God head.

Jehovah God is ONE God.
The trinity IS NOT a biblical teaching.
Jesus repeatedly said he was the SON of God.
Not himself, the Almighty.
In fact the Pharsees and Sanhedrin during the nitetime trial accused him of blasphemy for calling himself God's own Son. And so charged him with being put to death. He did NOT say that he is God.
Preparing his Apostles for his departure , while still in the upstairs room, Jesus said to them "Do not let your hearts be troubled", he comforts them. "Excersize faith in God." But he adds: "Excersize faith also in me." He goes on to say "The things I say to you men I do not speak of my own originality." Again,2 seperate individuals. Further he goes on to say "If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am."
NOT EQUAL.
The trinity came about thru Greek teachings.
Judaism is a monotheist faith.
The Nite in Gethsemane, while praying Jesus again, (3 times) spoke to his Father and God as a seperate and individual person.
1st; Not as I will, but as you will.
2nd; "this cup" what His God and Father had willed for him to accomplish and
3rd; "Not what I want, but what you want. Father if you wish, remove this cup from me"
While upon his torture stake, passersby began speaking abusively, wagging their heads in mockery and saying: He has put his trust in God; let Him now rescue him if He wants him, for he said, "I am God's Son."
I do ALOT of reading, research and study. And NO Where have I yet, to see, read or even discerned that the 2 God's are 1. And most expressly NEVER that the will of God, his active force, His will; is Jesus nor Jehovah Himself.
I could go on and on for days.
None-the-less if Satan has blinded your minds, no amount of my knowledge will help you. Only Jehovah can do this.

Considering Jesus told us that the Father is greater than he is (John 14:28), I'd say that those who say that there is a Trinity are not only going against what the Bible teaches (in many scriptures) but also what Jesus taught.
