This is a response to “AdoreHim” reply:
“AdoreHim”, would you say that John 3:16 contradicts Roman 9 where Paul writes, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.…. I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion… Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.”
I don’t believe Roman 9 contradicts John 3:16. It upholds the doctrine of election (Predestination) taught throughout the Bible.
“Predestination is the doctrine that God alone chooses (elects) who is saved. He makes His choice independent of any quality or condition in sinful man. He does not look into a person and recognize something good nor does He look into the future to see who would choose Him. He elects people to salvation purely on the basis of His good pleasure. Those not elected are not saved. He does this because He is sovereign. He has the right to elect some to salvation and let all the rest go their natural way: to hell. This is predestination."
"For those God foreknew he also PREDESTINED to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, …and those he PREDESTINED, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified." Romans 8:29-30
"Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy... having PREDESTINED us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will Ephesians." 1:4-5

If God handpicked people to be saved.... why then would He send His Son to die to atone for the sins of the world? He could save who He wanted to save without sending Jesus.
1 John 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

No-Jesus is a loving God, and "The Lord is not willing that any should be damned."
Yes to unbelievers because they chose to reject the words of Jesus and his salvation=
the answer is still in the salvation of the soul-till then we are on the outside looking in. Revelation 22 "Do not add to my word or take from it or you will receieve plagues, and never find salvation.
this is how I got salvation-believing the Word of God="I love you, and ask you to repent of your sins (even one lie) quickly. Behold I stand at your heart door and knock if you hear my words and ask me in, I will come in and be your friend." Revelation 1:1=Jesus words spoken from heaven & 3:19&20
so i prayed "Jesus I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen."
Now Jesus is my Messiah, Bright and morning star, best friend, and savior, he comforts and keeps me, and His word has become the love letter of my life in Spirit and in truth.
Praying the best for you too, David

Fear of God means a healthy respect for God for Catholics.
Why it makes me terrorize? If you want something scary try reading Lovecraft not the Bible.

what about these:
"Stone disobedient children" (Deuteronomy 21:18-21)
Prostitution is punished by burning the woman alive (Leviticus 21:9)
The Bible says that the sole reason God created women in the first place was to provide company and service to men (1 Corinthians 11:9)
1 Timothy 2:15 says only women who have children will be spared hell

God does not want any one NOT to be saved- that is why it says- GOD so loved THE WORLD- that He gave His son, so that WHOSOEVER believes will not perish , but have everlasting life-" There is no mistaking it. This verse does not say- "God loves those He wants to love, and everyone else perishes. NO NO NO

That chapter really doesn't have anything to do with being "saved." It has to do with the designated community of God on earth.

Romans 9 doesn't scare me at all.
9 Romans however would scare the hell out of me. Especially if they were armed.

No,and It should not scare anyone.
God's mercy and grace as revealed in both new and old testaments, are evidence that He is neither capricious or arbitrary in his choices..He will never turn anyone away who seeks him with all of their heart. The reasons for his choices are not revealed, but we can be assured of his love and compassion for all of humanity and that he is not willing that any should perish, but to rather come to him in faith believing.
God does not predestine anyone to eternal damnation...His reasoning for choosing to reveal his grace to some is not clear..He alone knows the heart of each individual and responds accordingly.....
No one will ever be turned away that wish to be in covenant with Him....God is fair.
