Is it just me? what da hell does pon de river mean? what's wuk? what's dutty wine? ahh. Is this Jamaican English? Or what is it? I don't understand a word. I just like to dance to those songs. Is it just me who can't understand what those ppl say?

What's your native language? Is it English? If so, then of course you can't understand Reggaeton -- it's in SPANISH, duh! What's more, it's full of Puerto Rican Spanish slang.
As for actual reggae/dancehall (I think you are actually probably talking about ragga), you just have to get used to Jamaican pronunciation.
pon de river = UPON the river = "on the river"
wuk = work - just a phonetic spelling of Jamaican pronunciation.
dutty = dirty - again, phonetic spelling
wine = wind, as in "wind (turn/twist) your body." This is a bad phonetic spelling of win' (wind pronounced with the d left off). When you dance you win' & grin' ! It's been like that since the first days of reggae! Specifically, "dutty wine" is the name of a dance move that's come out in recent times.
I think it's funny that every few years a few ragga tracks pop into the consciousness of people who have no idea about Jamaican music....becomes a fad. These people have no idea what is being said, and the media plays all these songs without censoring them--- buy they are very dirty!! All of a sudden Sean Paul or Shaggy or somebody has a "crossover" hit and suddenly everyone starts talking of "reggae" and "dancehall"

Don't worry, your not the only one who doesn't understand what most dance hall artist are saying. It just depends on who you hang out with or whether or not you understand the Jamaican patois. Dutty wine and pon de river are dance moves. While wuk is also a dance move know as hot wuk but wuk can mean other things too.

Spanish is my first language and not even I understand what they say in Reggaeton. Reggae has the accent and the lingo that one has to get used to, I guess. What the heck is dancehall?

If u dont understand reggaeton well look at the lyrics n when u liste to the song ull say oh yeah c'mon its not hard to understand well at tleast for me it isnt I love reggaeton.
