Someone answered my "is smoking pot sending me to Hell?" question with the following link:

When I got there, I found out that according to the writer, God doesn't want you to drink or smoke anything, in addition to maintaining a healthy diet. So, does this mean that if you pollute your body with Doritos and Big Macs, are you on the path to Hell, same as a pot smoker?

Hello,

Overindulgence in anything can be sinful. The bible does not prohibit but warns what excess drinking can do in proverbs.
Similarily, in the same book it warns not to over indulge in rich foods lest you become poor. Smoking didn't come to western culture until 2500 years after =, - so nothing is said although I question some Muslim friends why they allow smoking bot not wine.

While I have your ear, the only people I find worse than smokers and alcoholics are reformed smokers and alcoholics. Sigh, nothing worse than a monstorous fat lout of an evangelist yapping about the sins of drinking... talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Meanwhile I weighed myself today and see that gained
15 lbs over the last 2 months on the barbie circuit. THEREFORE DON'T "YOU" DARE GO OUT AND ENJOY A BURGER OR ANY JUNK FOOD NOW OR IN THE FUTURE,
PRAISE THE LORD HALLELUJAH ! -:)

I think eating junk food is unhealthy. Sometimes people don't have a choice, it is either junk food or nothing. So? I would get the OK in my spiritman to eat any junk food. Actually, I usually get the OK for everything I may eat first. Because now a days mostly everything might have something unhealthy in it.

I get don't get the OK for some of those tempting donuts in the grocery store very often. So? I don't get to eat them, unless I get the OK in my spiritman. The good thing is that I don't get food poisoning.

Why even pops I usually can't drink. Then I recently found out that the reason some got Leukemia was because of the Cancer causing benzine that formed with the 2 ingredients sodium or potassium bensoit plus vitamin C or ascorbic acid. When light & heat conditions caused it. And the pop tested most high in benzene was the safeway orange pop. One of the pops. So? We have to trust the Lords direction in everything we eat. What about eating spinich with ecolai?

Anything potentially bad for a human being either psysically, mentally or spiritually are a sin -that means moral evil- for Catholics like me.

That means eating junk food or drinking one time it not harmful so it is not a sin at all. But a lot of drinking or eating junk food is harmful so its a sin.

Smoking on the other part is harmful because of many reasons, for example nicotine is a chemical used for killed bugs and other insects everywhere, so it is harmful enough to be a sin.

That also means that both anorexia and eating to much junk food or drinking are sins for catholics. But anorexia is worse because it really can kill you and to be fat is a situation you can change with enough sports and a good diet.

It is a matter of how much a sin can harm you either psysically, mentally or spiritually to say how bad a sin are.

For example for catholics abortion is an incredibilly evil sin, that means for catholics abortion harm the people who commits it both mentally and spiritually in a terrible way and psysical harm is possible too.

Whoever wrote that was wrong. God drank wine. Jesus turned water into wine. As for your other statement, gluttony is one of the 7 deadly sins, so maybe if you pork out on food all day long, that may be a problem.
However, God won't send anyone to Hell for eating a Bic Mac. You're just being ridiculous.

Pot is still illegal, as far as I know. God has nothing to do with it. However, as pot helps cancer patients, I think it ought to be legalized for their use. I'm all for that.

I wonder why SOME atheists hate Christians so much that they goad and attack as often as they possibly can.

If you want a serious answer here it is.
What is sin? Sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:4
Is there anything about eating in the 10 Commandments?
The 6th commandment says..."thou shalt not kill." Ex. 20:13.
Can junk food kill you? Research for yourself.

God put all the plants on earth for a reason. Pot helps cancer patients. (Not too sure what tobacco does to help anyone but get them addicted to it. )
As with anything on earth that is God-made or man-made, there is a limit to what we consume. If we tried to survive on junk food and pot and tobacco alone then yes it would be a sin. Because God wants our bodies to be pure and doesn't want us to over eat and hurt ourselves. So everything has a limit and purpose.

None of those actions will send you to hell first of all. Redemption is given when you accept Jesus as your savior. Yes, by biblical standards all those things are sins. Ingesting anything that harms your body is a sin. To my understanding and personal beliefs, though, its more about moderation in all things than avoiding all "pollutants".

I don't believe the Mormon church believes you will go to hell if you smoke pot. I went to the church in my search to find what I believed so I have some experience with this church.

I have to wonder if this was posted just to try to promote the Mormon church. For those that don't know, the Mormon church isn't Christian, it teaches to have faith in the founder of the church and the church as well instead of putting your faith in Christ.

If you accept Jesus as your savior you are going to heaven. Does this mean you can sin, the Bible says God forbid. He says the body is the temple of God that we should treat it as such.
