well... you should be able to sue them for harrassment. I am thoroghly against Christian Fundies or whatever trying to overdo it. And i'm a Christian and i'm not even from the U.S either i just think they're givin Christianity a really bad name.

It is actually blatantly unconstitutional. The first amendment grants all American citizens several freedoms and rights, including the freedom of religion. This is often interpreted by the average American to mean that you can choose to follow any given religion, or lack there of, at all. However, it is more adequately described as a freedom from religion. Unlike Britain at the time, no specific religion could be forced upon you and all citizens are free from religion being forced upon them. This does give you the freedom to choose your own religion, but it also means that others cannot force religion upon you, resulting in the commonly heard phrase "Separation of Church and State".
However, in my personal, and controversial, views, religion is a completely personal matter. Your religion is merely between you and whatever higher power or deity you honor. If you ask me, organized religion should be abolished in replace of each individual finding their own connection to the heavens or whatever else they may put their faith in. I'm not saying to abolish Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc., but simply let each follower be free to connect with the greater power by themselves, instead of being under the influence of other men who tell them what the word of god should be. Religion is a beautiful thing, but has been twisted and deformed to control people. Once religion becomes personal, such issues wouldn't exist.

It should be illegal to force anything on people. However, your idea of force seems different than mine. Handing out Bibles at a parade doesn't seem like force to me.
Perhaps we can agree that people should be courteous and not oppressive when sharing their religion. Handing out Bibles can be done both ways.
If I had information that would significantly improve your life, you'd want me to try and tell you about it, but without being oppressive. I think the right approach is to treat others as we'd want to be treated.

I agree with Memory. I'm also a Christian, and I am ashamed at the way some Christians act. Everyone has a right to believe anything he/she pleases about God, no god, whatever, and left in peace. I also think that Christians ought to be left in peace as well without some people goading/attacking them and calling them idiots. It makes me very sad to think that some atheists hate us all because of the actions of certain "fundamentalists."

YES I THINK IT SHOULD BE! it's actually an amendment right, freedom of religion. People should be able to believe in whatever they want, and have no one force them to change or think a certain way.

I think it should be. If people wanted to learn about a religion they could go do some research. It's really not that hard.

It can't really be 'illegal', considering the first ammendment says we have freedom of speech, and therefore ... they can say things.
Although I do think we should be allowed to do something if someone won't shut up about how our own beliefs are 'wrong' and how we should follow their path and such.

In the USofA to force religion on other people is illegal.
Handling out literature is not "forceful", you can refuse to accept it. Unlike the post office, who continues to put circulars into my mailbox....................
When people drive past my house with their music so loud that I can not converse over it, is being forceful........
To cause someone to do something against their will is forceful..................
Handling out literature to those who can accept it or refuse it is not forceful.
