If you are a Christian woman, there should be some degree of modesty, the same as if you are a Christian man. You would not want to cause another to stumble. What if you are a Christian woman, you're proud of your body, and wear a skimpy bikini to the beach. And a young Christian (young as in he just came to Christ) sees you and goes home and masturbates, thinking about you in that skimpy bikini. Have you caused him to sin?

I'm masturbating right now, but it's okay, 'cause I'm an atheist!

No-one can "cause" another to sin. But you have been a source of temptation for him, and as such, a tool of the enemy. Is there a reason for bikinis other than to create lustful thoughts in men? Even if there is, surely you realize that such "clothing" will have that effect. No Christian woman should be running around in public virtually naked. A bikini is a violation of the Christian virtue of modesty.

In your example, the Christian woman does bare some responsibility for her immodesty. However, we all have agency, so we can choose to avoid such pornography and to force it from our minds if inadvertently seen. The lack of clothing didn't force the young Christian to be immoral or even have immoral thoughts.

One of the many things I love about the Abrahamic faiths. Men have no responsibility for their own sexuality, cuz it's in the book. I guess women shouldn't carry purses, either, lest we be at fault for tempting some man into mugging us. Not his fault, of course. Especially if he prays for forgiveness afterward.

no.. you didn't masturbate.. he did.
Truth be told he would of masturbated even if you hadn't wore that bikini... he would of just found some one else to lust after.

UPDATE: Why the thumps down?? After all you can't control what other ppl do or even think.

yes, you have led someone else to sin. You were wrong for wearing something skimpy.

People can believe in what they want, and do what they want as long as it doesn't harm another person.
