I am kind of a person who do not wish to sleep early.I usually have a lot of homework to do and cannt finish those until mid night(although I have been working out all the time)Then my father keep coming into my room and telling me to go to sleep.I DO explain that this is important but he say that it could affect my health to go to bed very late. What should I do?I sick of hearing that and do not wish to argue with him any more!

Life, especially as you get older, is all about time management. Young people, say 15-25 year olds, never get enough sleep. I never did. Sleep is very important to ones over all health, but at your age not so much. It sucks that you cant come to an understanding with him. Obviously he cares about you but you know your body better than him. I hate to say it but it being his house and all you are gonna just have to deal with it. At some point you won't argue with him. You will just sigh, roll your eyes a little and do what you want to do. I mean its not like he is trying to get you to stop stealing or killing people which he would if you were but he needs to lay off a bit.

At home. in their own house, whether rented, or owned your parents rule. Get it.

Would you pose the following question on Yahoo answers?

Me and a couple of me mates were in class having a gum chewing competition, when this teacher like, ask us to open some boring book of maps, just cause it's his geography lesson. We tell him we got google earth, but he don't listen. What should we do?

Would it actually hurt you to do as your father asks? I mean would you really be physically, emotionally, or psychologically, damaged if you happened to heed him?

By the way the greatest complaint on parents is not on those who insist on petty rules, but on those who don't bother, who don't care.

So play the care card. Put him in the picture about your homework, about your aspirations. I mean he is your dad, so get him on side.

Besides he might want to get to bed himself, and unless you've got an en suite bathroom etc, the chances are he would prefer it if you were in bed before he began his ablutions.

He probably wants you to get your 8 hours a night. Take a nap during the day and try to get to sleep by 2-4 am or whenever it is that REM sleep is supposed to happen and hopefully he will understand.

yeah, that's tough since he probably won't understand doing hw is important. my nieces are in the eight and 5th grade and they went to be bed that late because they got left tone of hw. They paid for it in the morning since they had to wake up like at 5:30 in the morning. Anyway, your dad has to understand that if you AREN'T just messing around, that staying up to do hw is important.
