. . . . that you ONLY could have learned by following your particular folkway or tradition? (Or at least learned more readily/fully by believing and practicing what you do)

I'll add mine after I've seen some of y'alls. :-)

MINE: that I am not "fallen" and do not need "redeemed." Growing up fundyroller draugrtru, I carried that inner sense of unworthiness and need with me for a LOT of years, long after I left the church and beliefs of my youth. Heathenry "rolled away the stone" from my heart and let me breathe, relax, and just accept myself. *G*

I learned that the universe is the body of the God/dess, and inherently sacred -- and that therefore I partake of that divinity with every breath and every beat of my heart. It is a truly wonderful feeling.

I've learned that the things I was drawn to as a child and discouraged to continue as an adult WERE valid, and actually are at the core of who I am. I was a Pagan child even though I had no idea what it was back then. It was in my heart and soul. Having come back to my original self, I've been much happier and more fulfilled.

I really learned a lot about myself when I decided I needed to find me again. After being married for so long I had become non-existant. I realized that I needed to find me again.

I've learned that I'm a much softer person than I thought. lol I'm more giving than I thought I was. I found out I could stand up for myself. I found that I am stronger than I thought I was.

That everything in life-even death-is part of the cycle and is not to be feared in the way that many people do.

That respecting nature and everything in it is very important.

That my temper-which on rare occasions can be explosive-is a part of me and is there to protect the rest of me.

I know you said one thing but I've learned so much. These are the 3 biggest I think.

I've learned that the answers are within me. I no longer need to go to outside sources to find guidance. I've learned to trust my own thoughts and ideas rather than look for acceptance and validation from others.

I hold the power of the universe in myself. I am not weak or helpless.
That I have a right to that power but with that right comes the responsibility as well.
I am interconnected to everyone and everything.
The list is endless.

My dark side (Matylda) is a natural part of me. Everyone has one, and it only comes out when self or someone/thing I love is being threatened. She is there to protect me, and because I am such a good, trusting and giving individual, she is that much more aggressive when she is called out.
The Dragon guards a rare &precious gift...a heart of gold!!!

I have learned as an Atheist, that I do not need some higher power to complete me, and to give me peace about where I go when I die. I don't think its wrong for those who are religious and believe in god, I don't condemn you so please don't condemn me.
