I just read, on line, that a warning has been posted saying don't use any flea and tick drops, such as Frontline and others on white cats--it will burn them.

Does anyone know if this is true?

That's nonsense. I can't vouch for any of the stuff they sell in stores because that stuff often is dangerous, causing seizures and even death sometimes! But Frontline is safe, it does not burn the skin, no matter what colour the animal is. It isn't corrosive!!

Don't believe everything - or anything - you read on the internet.

EDIT: The link posted by CAT is about Hartz, which is known to be a lousy product (another petshop-available one!) I'm surprised to hear about Frontline causing seizures - given that is only acts on the skin, this has got to be fairly unusual. I don't know if CAT got this Frontline off the internet but is she did it may not have actually been Frontline.

I found this:

I use Advantage. The ONLY 2 times I used Frontline, both dogs had a seizure within an hour. I refuse to use the product again, obviously.

I haven't heard anything about that. I actually just got Frontline for my cat, but she's a brown tabby. I'm sure if you call your cat's vet they can answer this question for certain. :)

I had a solid white cat for years and it didn't do any damage except to the fleas.
