How much can you lose on a water fast for 30-40 days?
And I know there are "healthier" ways but I am interested in replies about water fasting..
Thanks

You could lose as little as 5lbs or as much as 20, but when you go back to eating, your metabolism will be horribly slow and you will gain weight at twice the rate you did previous to your little experiment.

swap out brown rice or quinoa yes even the new super food which both add up to about 220 calories per cup for cauliflower or roasted peppers that are only about 30 calories per cup

fasting deprives the body of energy and nutrients needed for normal functions. any rapid weight loss is mostly water and muscle loss. fasting also causes fatigue and dizziness, with less energy for physical activity. and it feeds the cycle of "yo-yo" dieting.
as an aside, there is a misconception that fasting "cleans out" the system, removing toxic waste. to the contrary, body chemicals called ketones build up in the body when carbs aren't available for energy. ketosis (which can be fatal to people with diabetes) puts a burden on kidneys.
