Windows Vista does not have alot of bugs.
It is a True there are many problems but most
come from Hardware not compatible just meets
the minimum specs or drivers for the devices
not written properly for Vista
Altho Microsoft likes to say IE7 is run under Vista
in protected mode for security reasons the simple truth is there are no 32 bit Active X controls available
IE7 runs the way it does for this reason
They were way behind deadline of releasing info to vendors
for driver creation. Give it about another year a better
compatibility list and selection of drivers should emerge.
Until then go to microsoft.com and run the VISTA hardware
compatibility test on your PC
Remember programs written for 98 and XP altho designed
for Direct X may not support the new device drivers for Vista
Best system for next year or so is Vista dual boot 98 or XP
This allows for playing of games and running non Vista apps
without problems
Internet surfing best under Vista as nothing can leave Temp Internet Files directory without a pop up box for confirmation
really puts a damper on Spyware
At the core of PC motherboards is a chipset providing
AGP Hardrive and external world communication
Altho many of these can support x64 procs they dont
readily support Vista drivers as they were made prior to the details
of the driver requirements being released
The manufacturer of your motherboard may now have a better driver package than the one Vista chose to install
Vista is more than a new version of Windows its an evolution
in the computer OS
Most early users of VISTA say its more of an EYE CANDY
enhancement than it is performance.
That will change in the near future as VISTA only apps
start appearing

Bugs in computer terms are those nasty mistakes being made by a program or an application, which is most probably because the programmer has not tested it properly. Vista has a lot of bugs because microsoft wants to release it to the public as soon as possible to earn a lot of cash and in doing so is unable to finalize or truly check if it has problems. An operating system like windows is so complex that extensive testing is needed to really make it perfect, but although this is a case there will still be bugs and mistakes because as we say nobody is perfect, especially man, and its safe to say that all these technology you see are made by man.

Well like any other software Vista has its own maturity cycle which starts with the software having a lot of bugs and consecutive patch releases to solve these bugs.
These bugs are mistakes made by the programmers involved during the development lifecycle of the product.

Windows Vista actually doesn't have much bugs. There more of "compatibility" issues. And the bugs come from mistakes of the programmers.

All Windows products have bugs. Most computer programs have bugs when they are first released.
No matter how hard they try it is practically impossible to test a program with every type of hardware and software that is in use. Which means there will be incompatibilities.

Windows is a complex piece of software. It's expected that there will be bugs when it first comes out.
