Anxiety causes a person to live in fear of the past, afraid to experience new things and general unhappiness. There are wonderful medicines available and counseling that can completely change a person's life. There are generally chemicals lacking in the brain or a person has been through a significant life experience to cause anxiety to rule ones life.

Brain chemistry my friend. Just like depression. That is what the research says. There is still a lot about the brain we do not know about.

But we do know that GABA, Serotonin, Dopamine and Noreph. play a huge role in the fight or flight response.

Also the Physical and emotional connection of the brain plays a big role in this as well.

Excessive and chronic anxiety can cause (directly and indirectly) physical health problems over time. First, chronic anxiety can compromise your immune system, making you more susceptible to common illnesses - colds, flu, sinus infections, etc. Also, some people try to cope with anxiety in unhealthy ways - eating unhealthy foods, smoking, drinking too much alcohol - all behaviors that are associated with a number of medical conditions, including heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. If you are dealing with excessive anxiety, talk to your doctor. He/she may be able to help you develop better coping skills to manage your anxiety. Be careful with anti-anxiety medications, though, as many have a high potential for dependence.

it's more like what causes anxiety. there is always a root cause, you just have to find it. many cases of anxiety or panic attacks stem from the liver-so get tested for liver disease!

there are other types of illness that do pass the blood brain barrier causing the chemistry to miscommunicate.

Hi!

Anxiety can cause unhappiness.

Anxiety is always about the future - what might happen. Our worse fears are rarely realised, so anxiety achieves no known beneficial purpose unless we harness it and build into our plans counters to possible disaster.

A light way of seeing it goes:

There are two things to worry about - you are sick or you are well. If you are well, nothing to worry about. If you are sick, there are two things to worry about - you get better or you die. If you get better, nothing to worry about - if you die there are two things to worry about - you go to heaven or hell. If you go to heaven, nothing to worry about and if you go to hell you will be so busy letting on to all the good and pious people you knew in life that you won't have time to worry - so why worry in the first place?

Good wishes.

It can cause real problems like brain damage, and problems with your bladder. I guess you can take pills, but they have a lot of side affects, and I wouldn't suggest them. Post another question with your details, and I'll see if I can help.
