If you're asking if global warming is real, the answer is yes. It's been directly measured:

If you're asking if humans are causing global warming, the answer is also yes.

If you're asking if humans are the primary cause of the current global warming, the answer is almost certainly yes.

This is really 3 questions.

1) Is the average temperature on the planet increasing ( AKA global warming )? The answer is yes. If you want proof, consider the fact that much of North America used to be covere in glaciers.. which are now gone.

2) Did humans cause global warming? The answer to this is clearly no. If you want proof, consider the fact that the glaciers ( from #1 ) melted long before humans industrialized. The planets climate is in a constant state of change, from warm to cool to warm to cool. This has been happening for millions of years.

3) Do humans speed up global warming? The answer is maybe. Despite what the "chicken little" types will claim, there is no proven link between CO2 and temperature increase ( in fact the data shows the temperature increase happens BEFORE the CO2 increase ). Further, human contribution to green house gas is a TINY fraction of the overall amount, so if humans are speeding up global warming.. it's by a very small amount.

And finally, an interesting little bit of triva must people seem to overlook. Since humans heavily industrialized ( about 1940 ), there have been MORE years of cooling than there have been of warming.

Yes. Forget the political stuff and the "logical" arguments. Just look at the numbers and the science.

Most of the arguments can be answered simply by this. Yes, there have been natural climate changes before, mostly due to the Sun. But the data clearly shows that, starting about 40 years ago, man's contribution overwhelmed the natural forces that caused climate before.

This is a nice picture, includes the effect of the Sun, and there are many more scientific studies showing the same thing.

None of the other explanations works nearly as well. The scientific equations don't work for them. The numbers come out wrong. Most questions are answered here:

sorry to break it to you but global warming is what regualtes our temperature...without it we would all freeze...

next

"global warming technically is a good thing b/c it helps regualte our tempertarute...but now it has gotten to the extent where it's too hot because there are too many greenhouse gases..aka polltuion

the way global warming works is basically the same as the greenhouse effect

1. rays from the sun penetrate the earth, some bounce back into space, while some come into the earth
2. the rays go to the ground and bounce back up to go back into space, BUT there are greenhouse gases... aka pollution..which traps the rays..aka heat... inside the earth and prevent it from escaping
3. therefore the more pollution=more greenhouse gases=HOT weather

BTW it's not always going to be hot w/ global warming...global warming affects the climate.. temperatures rising...ice caps melting and sea level rising..etc "

Although global warming has been theoretically proven, some scientists do begin to doubt and are gradually remembering other possible causes. One cause could in fact be El nino or another natural occurance.

I truly believe that we have had some effect on this planet, how could we not. But the fact this we have had heat waves that kill, extinct animals and ice ages long before humans were here. I do agree we may have made things worse or they may happen sooner but I think that they would have happened no matter what just not as sever or as soon. Although I do support every effort to lesson our effect on our environment. Just because I think this way do not mean that I condone irresponsible behavior in regards to this planet.

Yes it is! the smoke from your car is pollution and that makes the ice melt in Antarctica. Global Warming is going to kill us at this rate!

Yes, global warming IS happening, but it is a natural phenomenon, and has nothing to do with humans do. The earth's climate is changing all over, in preparation for the Golden Age.

yes it is. There is a big hole in the ozone layer and without the ozone layer we would die of heat and the heat is melting the ice in Antarctica. Some ways to prevent this: use ethanol in your car, don't waste electricity, etc. put it this way, just be environmentally friendly!
