Yes probably, hot dogs arn't met for cats at all. I'd suggest giving her CAT FOOD only and water just until she finishes up with her feeling sick from the hot dog if she dons't eat just leave it till she feels like it.

Before there was cat food there was people food. When I was a girl, which was longer ago than I wish, and was living in a country hamlet, nobody fed their cats cat food, just leftovers from the kitchen table. People now don't do that much and it is largely frowned upon. And it's just possible cats didn't live as long or thrive as much. And I probably would not have approved of it then if I knew and felt as I do now.
But one thing is sure: People then ate hot dogs, and there were hot dog leftovers, and they were fed to cats, who ate them and did just fine.
If your kitty tossed her cookies this morning, it would have more to do with something she ingested this morning. She is smaller than you and has a much higher metabolism. If the hot dog didn't come back up last night, it is 3/4 of the way through her gut by now.
Everybody runs low or out of cat food from time to time, and it doesn't hurt your cat to fill in with decent people food. In fact, that hot dog probably had more real meat in it than many of the cheaper cat foods. What it had that is bad for your kitty is a lot of salt. But as a one time thing, it can't and probably didn't hurt your cat one little bit.
Maybe she ate a bit of greenery as an emetic to bring up a hairball.
If you really are worried, call the vet, and ask. And if she keeps throwing up lots, then get her in to the vet. But I suspect the just had a good cookie-toss this morning, and the hotdog is well on its way to the litter pan.
But thank you for being so caring.

Sounds like she has an upset stomach. Probably not from the hot dog. She could have gotten into something else. If she is still sick in the morning take her to the vet. In the mean time give her a little milk-it will flush out her system.

Cats have really sensitive livers, and the spices in the sausage might have made her stomach upset.
Repeated vomiting should never be ignored because it can lead to dehydration, if the vomiting occurs twice daily for two or three days. If your cat stops eating, seems to have abdominal pain, retches continuously or if there's blood in the vomit, take him to a veterinarian.
If she stopped vomiting, try to keep her hydrated and let her fast for today. Then slowly introduce her to her food again.
Cats have amazing self-healing powers, so let her rest and wait a little.

I would call your vet as others have suggested....Heck, the thought of eating a hot dog makes me want to vomit too! LOL. Seriously, it wasn't the best option of food for your cat and it sounds like she isn't reacting well to it.

since she isnt used to eating that kind of food, then yes, that probably is what is causing her to throw up, there really isnt much you can do, just make sure she has water so she doesnt get dehydrated, until the hotdog is all the way out of her system. If you are really worried, then call the vet.

Well if your cat hasn't eaten much and is refusing to eat now on top if vomiting you should try to get her to the vet. If she is not acting herself or seems more tired than usual then it could be serious.
Do you have proper cat food for her now? If you can't provide her with proper cat food you need to hand your cat over to someone who can.

Give her dry cat food and water only. Sounds like she has a sensitive belly. Give her until this evening and if she still isn't eating, I'd call my vet ASAP. Watch her for dehydration - make sure she is drinking PLENTY of water - especially if she is vomiting.

my cats throw up sometimes after eating cat food they don't like. but it passes. im sure your cat will be just fine. The hotdog probably wasnt the best choice for your cat, and he/she just didnt digest it properly. If your cat isn't getting better, I recomend seeing a vet.

You honestly shouldn't feed your cat hot dogs, I mean unless their "mushed" and all. But for now it's best just sticking to cat meat! Don't worry yourself of blame yourself, Cats eat absolutely everything. I have 3 cats of my own and one kitten. One of my cats is 14 years old and still healthy. I feed mines toast and scraps. If they don't eat it they don't eat it. If they do, they do. After all cats do get out and if you don't other people will!
