To outsiders Christianity was referred to as “The Way” (Ac 9:2; 19:9, 23; 22:4), and opponents called it “the sect of the Nazarenes” or just “this sect.”—Ac 24:5; 28:22.. 5 For we have found this man a pestilent fellow and stirring up seditions among all the Jews throughout the inhabited earth and a spearhead of the sect of the Naz‧a‧renes′, 6 one who also tried to profane the temple and whom we seized. 7 —— 8 From him you yourself can by examination find out about all these things of which we are accusing him.”
(Acts 24:13-14) . . .Nor can they prove to you the things of which they are accusing me right now. 14 But I do admit this to you, that, according to the way that they call a ‘sect,’ in this manner I am rendering sacred service to the God of my forefathers, as I believe all the things set forth in the Law and written in the Prophets;
(Acts 24:13-14) . . .Nor can they prove to you the things of which they are accusing me right now. 14

Absolutely, you are right! I think this Scripture confirms that also...
(Acts 4:13-30) “13 Now when they beheld the outspokenness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were men unlettered and ordinary, they got to wondering. And they began to recognize about them that they used to be with Jesus; 14 and as they were looking at the man that had been cured standing with them, they had nothing to say in rebuttal. 15 So they commanded them to go outside the San′he·drin hall, and they began consulting with one another, 16 saying: “What shall we do with these men? Because, for a fact, a noteworthy sign has occurred through them, one manifest to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. 17 Nevertheless, in order that it may not be spread abroad further among the people, let us tell them with threats not to speak anymore upon the basis of this name to any man at all.”
Notice, that they were afraid of losing power over the people, so they did what they could to squealch the truth from being preached!

A sect is not a cult. The Nazarenes were originally a sect of Judaism and in time became a separate religion.

Yes, I know this. And it's still going on to this day.
There r (@ least) 2 faiths (that I know of) that do not believe nor teach the trinity and many refer to these as "not Christian".
Which is not true. If you follow the path, the way of Jesus the Christ; u r a Christian. Part of Christendom or not.

Re: Agnostics and atheists are considered satanic occult by Christians only. I really wish that Christians would stop judging the world according to their standards. It is very small minded.

Yay, someone else knows this! Thanks for asking it!
Christianity was once considered as outlandish to the rest of the world as any Neo religion seems to Christianity, but most Christians don't seem to know this.
Blessed be.

Yes, Jesus was a heretic in his own religion (Judaism).

Yep, and he told his true followers that a slave is not greater than his master; if they persecuted me, they will persecute you also (which, obviously, they persecuted him to the death. And after that, they continued to persecute his followers).
