What is worse to pay taxes that will be use for hospital, and social services used by illegal immigrants that work...or to pay taxes for people that are citizens dont work and live of the system? Anyways..Things will not change cause I will have to continue paying taxes that will be use by both of those groups...( they were going to make those illegals start paying taxes you know, that would have been one less group..what a bummer)

Cincy what makes you think that they will enforce the law? Better question will be: Dont you think that there is a reason why they havent enforced it? Cause they can't..there is a lot of dirty stuff under the table..That wont change..so trust me..We will continue paying taxes for both groups...

Micky It is very possible to live of the system,,,They collect welfare for 5 years..then they collect unemployment, but if they end up in the stree they go to shelters...Where does welfare comes from..taxes, where does unemployment money comes from...taxes, what supports shelters, taxes...so yes, of course you can live off the systemmm..many people do and have been do in it for year..Changes? of course..But they always get around it (Illegals or not)

Don't you know we are also paying extra taxes for the corporations and businesses that hire illegals. They are paying them under the table, which means they are not reporting the taxes either that they would have had to pay for additional employees.
The illegals are not the only ones that should be blamed. The businesses hiring them and the government letting everything go for so long are the ones at fault. The illegals keep coming here because they know they can.

That system would have given those people access to more things you have to pay taxes on also. Legal non citizens use services that you have to pay taxes on to a greater degree than illegals do. And the cost is greater than the amount of taxes that are paid by them now.
It would have made things more expensive for you not cheaper.

It's impossible for a person to live off the system. Laws have been changed for a while now and people can't collect welfare for more than 5 years,also during this time,they have to be seeking employment and the amount of cash they recieve is not near enough to pay rent or anything.
I would much rather give my tax dollars to the legal citizen.

Right now the tax base is dependent on illegals who pay in and don't receive the benefits in the long range such as Social Security.With the government proliferation of our Social Security funds we need these extra taxes to keep the system afloat.Plain and simple.

in Texas, several Hospitals closed because the tax base was unable to cover the losses of treating the illegals.

I am not following you on this one.
And the taxes that the illegals pay are a drop in the bucket of the social systems that they use.
Regardless, the bill was defeted, we are going to enforce our laws (hopefully) so the question is dead.

I'd like to agree with you Nicole, but i can't...if illegals broke the law to get here what makes you think they'll respect it enough to pay taxes?
i live on the border (Rio grande valley) Nicole...most of these people don't want to come to America to be citizens...they want jobs and they send most of the money that they make home, with plans to return there and live

I would rather pay taxes for citizens that don't work or "work the system" because they are here legally! There should be stricter laws and penalties for those who abuse the system.
