hello. i sleep with an internet data cable under my bed. does such a cable radiate much electric current? is such a cable not good for health?

the magnetic field of such a low power cable is almost too low to measure. (and we have some SENSITIVE stuff to try to measure it...)

You might worry if there was a 10,000 volt power line within 3 ft of your bed...

Strength of magnetic field from a line source (power line) is inversely proportional to the square of distance from the source.

So if the field is strong enough to attract a ball bearing at 1 ft... it may still be undetectable at 100 yards....

Insulated cables may radiate a mfield, but it's mall and far enough away from you I wouldn't worry about it. There are some studies that indicates strong fields from electrical sources may cause some medical problems. it's hard to tell though.

In any case I wouldn't worry about it, but if you still worry about it, reroute it away from your bed.

You're getting more radiation from the sun than from your internet cable.

U would get much more radiation from the local broadcast station.
