Any suggestions on reception music? In particular, first dance, mother/son, father/daughter, wedding party, etc. No religious or country music please and nothing too common. There is no theme for the wedding. The couple, families, wedding party and friends are not necessarily formal or traditional. Music tastes are pretty eclectic. Of course, song selection would have to mean something to the couple, but all suggestions will be listened to, considered and appreciated. Thanks

I have looked at many sites already. I am looking for others ideas. People tend to have more unique ideas than sites that usually just compile stats based on popularity. I am not looking for popular songs. I will look at those sites again though, just incase I missed something. If anyone has any unique or different ideas to share, it would be appreciated.

Nope, not particular genre. But as I said above, nothing religious and nothing country. As far as "It's the End of the World": that is awesome!!! That so fits the situation and the personalities of the people involved. Not to mention, I love that song. Bravo!!!

Entrance song - "Song #2" (Woo-Hoo Song) by Blur

First Dance- Love you Til the End- The Pogues

Father/Daughter-Father and Daughter-Paul Simon

No clue on Mother/son, I've never heard a good one of that kind

To get the kids up and dancing try the "I like to Move it" song played in the movie Madagascar(its an older song by a real group, I just dont know the artist), no kid can resist it and the grown-ups will love it too.

At the wedding I was at last night, the bride danced with her dad to "Saturday Night Fever". They choreographed it like the movie dance. It was a lot of fun, and got the party started on a upbeat note. And, I must say, I've never seen anything like it!

I asked all most closest friends to think of the songs we danced to back in college! I ended up having a HUGE selection and all brought back a ton of memories for us out on the dance floor! :-) Good Luck!

Here's a great site for you...they have many different genres of music, so there's probably something to please every musical palatte! They're grouped by the dances you mentioned, first dance, father/daughter, mother/son, etc. Hope this helps!
