Where can I buy restaurant quality dishes for home use? I need durable dishes that are not made of plastic. And yes, I have tried those Corelle dishes, and I manage to break those too. I would prefer not to spend a fortune.

Look up www.superprod.com. It's Superior Products, they're a restaurant supply company. They have everything from china to non breakable melamine dishes. And it's open to the public, you don't have to have an account. The website kind of sucks, but they're very helpful, and if you want to browse they'll send anyone a catalog.

Look in the phone book under restaurant supplies.

If where you live does not have such a place go to some of your local restaurants and ask them where they get their plates.

Also, check out as many garage/yard sales as you can.

I believe the biggest is
Sysco ???
but their dishes still break also.
I have found the Oriental supermarkets have wonderful dish ware and priced very appropriately.
