Hamburgur is itself, not at all, a food for people who are weight concsious but if you really want to have then broil it instead of frying. Eat alot of vegetables with it. Even lean meat has fat in it. Here are some ways to reduce the saturated fat in meat: Use a rack to drain off the fat when broiling, roasting or baking. Instead of basting with drippings, keep meat moist with wine, fruit juices or an acceptable oil-based marinade. Cook a day ahead of time. Stews, boiled meat, soup stock or other dishes in which fat cooks into the liquid can be refrigerated. Then the hardened fat can be removed from the top. Make gravies after the fat has hardened and can be removed from the liquid. Broil rather than pan-fry meats such as hamburger, lamb chops, pork chops and steak. When a recipe calls for browning the meat first, try browning it under the broiler instead of in a pan.

just brown the hamburger, drain off all the fat in the bottom of the pan. you can rise the hamburger at this point as well cut up your fav. veggies and put them in the pan with the hamburger. add garlic and peper and a few other spices to it mix it and you can serve it in a tortila soft shell and its very yummy. or you can cook ground beef, with veggies in a light beef based soup with out sodium.

You could make shepherd's pie as mentioned, usually it has peas and carrots in the bottom layer but you could have green beans, corn or other veggies as well. There's also vegetable soup or stew using the ground beef as meatballs, with the vegetables.

you could try browning and crumbling the hamburger (like taco meat style) season it with a little garlic, pepper, salt and then steam the veggies and pour into a glass baking dish and mix it well with a can of lowfat or fatfree cheese soup and bake till warm....or mix veggies/meat in a dish with steamed rice or whole wheat stuffing...hope this helps!
