I'm a pagan and I don't force my views of the world on other people. Every time someone other than Chirstan post a question they gang up on them and tell them they are going to Hell. Please can we use some comon courtesy. Is it their goal to take over the site?

I'm not saying all christians, just the loud mouths that feel the need to soundoff and condemn everyone. I have Friends that are Christian and we get along fine. We talk openly about religion, but don't try to say that each others views are wrong.I do see alot of negitvity on all sides. All I would want is for everyone to keep a civil tounge.

My wife even posted a question at one time asking if everyone thought that it would be better if Non Christians(Pagans, ect) had their own site on Y!A. Some Christians posted that they would just invade that site too just to start the same thing over again.

Summer vacation is almost over... the kidos will leave soon.

PS: Christianity was based on Pagan beliefs, and technically they are Pagans - they just don't know it.

An very recent survey has shown that 18,76 % of the americans are atheists.
The creationists and their little brothers the intelligent designers have to back off. Science is finding out that the wall between animals and human is an invention. The soul is in a dead alley.
Add to this the normal level of paranoia and the longing for martyrdom of fundamentalists and yes they have become very active lately.
But I do not think they try to take over this site. They need people to convert.
Regarding courtesy: I notice a very widespread misunderstanding on this site. Many people seem to think that ideas deserve respect. Of course that is not correct. Since ideas are (wo)manmade they are instruments for people. They should be continuously investigated, defended and attacked. People deserve respect. Ideas that ask respect are per definition suspect. They try to escape discussion and criticism.

I am not a Pagan but I am going to answer this question because it is rediculous.

Religion & Spirituallity site. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Everyone else, especially those who are not even religious or spiritual, visits this site and feels they can say whatever they want to say. Why not the Christians? I think the Christians bother you so much because we "hit a cord" in your heart and deep down you know we are right and you are convicted by our truth. I have never EVER told ANYONE they are going to hell. I have only read that statement a few times. Give some of us who are respectful and answer what we believe honestly a break. You are putting all the apples in the same basket and that is stereotyping. You don't want to do that do you.

I've more noticed that there's a growing war between the Christians and the atheists. We're pretty much ignored. But then again, unless we're tied to something negative, aren't we always? It'll be interesting to see how many of them post here and try to deny it.

Blessed be.

Actually, I see a disproportionate number of atheists responding on here. According to a recent survey only 2% of Americans are atheists, but from what I've seen they answer about 40% of the religious questions. Also, you are going to get some fundaMENTAList responses when you are dealing with an open forum. I believe that "God" is the natural universe, so from what I understand that might qualify me as a pagan. Some of my ancestors were probably Druids.

awww comeon! don't be whining. the Fundies love it when you appear weak and whiny. you know the Fundies are gonna infest wherever and whenever they can. it's their MO. sundry conversions are how they fill the pews of their multimillion dollar mega churches and fund their huge lobby in Washington DC and common courtesy is trumped by theocratic ambitions. all ya can do is try to counter the fear mongering, the bigotry, the lies and the misinformation with Truth as you perceive it.

I am not a Christian or a Pagan, but telling someone other than Christian they are going to hell is NOT forcing their views. People have the freedom to say whatever they want.
What another person says or thinks about me does not change who I am. Nor does it change who you are, unless you allow it to.

I'm sure they'd love to take over the site so they could just listen to themselves and not have to think about the possibility that their religion might be silly. But I think there are enough atheists and other non-Christians here who are keeping things interesting.

I have no doubt that originally that R&S was a christan only board, until the non-christan's started making their voices heard. now it seems that all the fundies do is post about how they lost their board and why are there even non-christans here...
