Also when I was done brushing my teeth this morning, what looked like a blood clot came out of my mouth. I thought my risk for dry socket was over.

It takes a while for the area to heal, and small blood clots often come out when you rinse, particularly if your teeth were impacted and you have stitches in your mouth. It's important to keep up with the warm salt water rinses until you have good initial healing (7 - 10 days).

If you have made it to day 8 without complications, your risk of developing a dry socket are just about gone. Be careful when you are brushing your teeth and be very gentle around the surgical areas -- you really don't want to actually brush in the area if you have stitches. You can disturb the stitches, cause bleeding and potentially start an infection.

If you have any doubt about whether you're healing properly, see oral surgeon or general dentist who performed the surgery. They will be glad to take a look at the area to make sure everything looks OK.

Gently brush your teeth, don't go too rough. After the first day, gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water several times a day to reduce swelling and relieve pain. Avoid rubbing the area with your tongue or touching it with your fingers.

It takes a while for it to heal. I'm getting mine CUT out soon too... I'm so scared! Any advice?

sometimes it takes time to heal and take antibiotic to avoid gettin it infected and salt and water rinses with alternate hexediene 0.1% ,if there inflammation is still persisting then go for antinflammatory drug and if its still bleeding then contact your dentist before you get a dry socket
precautions to be taken- do not brush over it untill it heals
do not smoke untill it heals as smokin dislodges clot and bleeding will not stop.
avoid too hot food or beverage

just be careful not to go too far back when you brush... the friction between the brush and the healing gums will cause bleeding.
and it may not have been a clot.. it might have been a piece of your gums that was trying to heal...

rinse with warm salt water and it will heal faster!
