The problem with, "spirituality" is that it is difficult to define in a way that is satisfying to all. Some feel that to be spiritual you must be religious but in truth, religion is the attempt to define true spirituality in words. In truth again, all religion speaks to the same thing at its core. Strip away all the rules and regulations, all the "hype" and "my god is better than your god," and you should, if you look hard enough, find "unconditional love."

Unconditional love is the result of spirituality. The end point. To get to that end point, you must first experience spirituality or be spiritual. Your classic "Catch 22." So, in the simplest terms that I can muster, this is what I believe spirituality is.

The sense, feeling, of being connected to all things. Once you are able to experience that, feel that, honor and respect for all life, unconditional love for all life energy results because you recognize that you are a part of that life energy. The geniuses of religion is the attempt, once you have experienced this connection to life energy, of defining where that life energy originated. Unfortunately...

That usually ends in the diametric opposite of spirituality. War, genocide, death & destruction, in the attempt to prove that your definition of the origins of this life energy are correct and the only right answer.

Spirituality in "general", is an understanding that human beings consists of more than flesh and blood and are rather Spirit creatures that exist and function through a body of clay...One who seeks to explore and feed this spirit nature even to the exclusion of the needs of the physical,is a spiritual person.

Looking within to find the answers. Loving animals is a spiritual thing to me. It's like life...it's what you make of it.
