A lot of people call themselves Christians so what is the evidence you have that you are one? What sets you apart from the ones that just call themselves Christians ?
Best wishes, Mike.

When you sincerely believe that Jesus is the Son of the True, Living God and you have confessed it with your mouth and believed it in your heart. When you do this, you experience a life change. You cannot, NOT go through a change. The bible says when we accept Him the old has gone and the new has come. Thus, we are born again into new creations. We no longer desire to do the sinful things that we once did before.

You will know a Christian by the "fruit" they produce. The worst thing for "true" Christians is someone who claims to be a Christian, but acts like everyone else i.e- nonbelievers. People who act like that make Christians look bad. When you have a heart after God, and not after the affections of mankind; you are a "true" Christian. When you aren't trying to be acceptable to man, but to God alone.
1st John tells us how to spot a false convert. If you call yourself a Christian yet you walk in darkness, you are a liar.
If you are a true Christian, then you have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you. It is an unmistakable feeling.

I am a Christian. But I like to think of Christianity not as a religion but I try to focus more on my relationship with Jesus. A thing that sets Christians apart from other people should be the way they live their lives. I certainly try to live my life for Christ. That means I try to stay pure in my thoughts, actions, etc. And everything I do I try to give God glory in it. I mess up and fail a lot and at times I've been overcome with doubt about my salvation (it happens to many of us) but in my convictions I've realized that if I didn't feel bad about the things I've done or the way I've acted then there would be something wrong with me and that it was the Holy Spirit convicting my heart about it all. Anyway,,being a Christian is all about having a relationship with Jesus and I know I have that.

i wouldn't know what sets me apart but one thing i know is that...
you know you are a Christian when the Holy Spirit becomes your best friend.
when all you ever want to do is please God and, have this insatiable thirst and quest for God and his Word.
you know you are a Christian when Prayerlessness becomes a sin to you.
you know you are a Christian when this famous quote becomes part of your life "Without Christ, not one step; with Him, anywhere!" Written by David Livingstone
being a Christian, is not a walk in the park you must live it daily.

When people are truly born of God, they know in their knower, they aren't the same person they used to be.

Once one has receive Jesus redemption, they are born of God spiritually. This is what makes them different inside. The spiritual birth, the spiritual awarness of Gods Kingdom. Then, Christians come in all ages, depending on how they have matured in Christ by renewing their minds in His Word and being renewed in His Spirit from glory to glory.

True Christians are truly children of God. Born of His Spirit, cleansed by His blood, joint heirs with King Jesus, part of the family of God.

Some people have grown up in Church, but when came to the age of accountability, they didn't trust God enouph to confess Jesus Christ their Lord & Savior, and didn't truly believe honestly from their heart, He raised from the dead. They are just religious, in a pre salvation state. But you could call them Christians, but they are on the edge & that is a dangerous place to be.

Also, the evidence is the Holy Spirit seal on every child born of God. The LORD God of the Holy Bible. God the Father, Word & Holy Spirit.

I come from a more Wesleyan tradition than some. Have you given your life over to Christ? Do you attempt everyday to be more and more a reflection of Him ? Do you want to spend more time with Him and His word? Are you living a life that is reflective of His? Does your life bear fruit?

You know when you have God in your heart.

Yes many people say they are Christians and may well not be but God has a one to one relationship with everyone and it is not for me to judge who are His children.

a love for The Christ is an appropriate responce to his unending love for you...The Bible says the way you love other people is a reflection of your love for The Christ and the mark of a Christian. not to be confused with how you become a Christian which is to "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved..." Acts 16:31

When you accept and believe that Jesus died for you on the cross in a horrible and unimaginable way, that He was resurrected after three days and ascended to heaven to atone for our sins before god, and you change your life and become more "Christ like". That is what a Christian is defined as. Also, a true Christian is not afraid to witness and talk about what God has done in their life and to practice what they preach. Words are no good unless actions support them. Thanks for the question and have a wonderful day!
