"The NT was written by people with a vested interest in making Jesus look like the Son of God"

This person obviouosly feels the NT is a hoax. Written by men
who tried to make the story up.

The fact of the matter is, just about all of these men were given the death penalty, and died a horrible death, for what they
refused to deny..

Now I ask you if they knew what they were saying was a hoax,
would they die for it?

This is much different than the Muslims who blow themselves up, they do that based on somethiing they've never seen,
but believe.

The Christian NT wrirters not only believed in what they
wrote, they were around to see it happen with their own eyes.

If they made it up, why would they be so willing to die a horrible
death for something they made up?

They would not be willing to die for a hoax. They knew Jesus was the Son of God.

"Excellent logic. People never die for false things! I guess you just proved Islam is the true religion too. And the people that drank Jim Jones koolaide - he must have been legit or why would they have killed themselves? They could see him "with their own eyes". Ditto: Heavens Gate Cult and Mansons Clan for that matter. Please.

You do know the gospels were written 30-40 years after the death of Christ...even fundy "scholars" admit that one.

You totally missed the point.

These NT writers were eyewitness to the events that took
place during the time of Jesus, includng His Resurrection.
(Luke 1)

If they saw these things with their own eyes, unlike the Muslims, and Jim Jones followers why would they die, if they knew those things weren't true?

(EDIT: to Sparky, below me) Jim Jones was in front of them as they took the koolaid. The HEavens Gate cultists died as their leader gave them the goods. They were looking right at their leader. It doesn't get more immediate than that.

The point that I think you're being willingly obtuse about is (duh) NONE of those people thot they were dying for "a hoax." But people believe in and die for false things a lot on this planet. We're gullible that way.

Jesus let Peter know that when he is old, he would be led where he didn't want to go...

This was after Peter denied Jesus 3 times & then Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him 3 times. So? Peter did deny Jesus once (3X). But after the resurrection, Peter didn't deny Jesus anymore.

So? He was martyred for the gospel when he was old. Because he believed it wasn't a hoax.

Muslims have much faith in being rewarded for killing enemies of Islam. I think it is tied with their hatred for the enemy & thinking they get a reward for killing the enemy, makes them think this is great that they can kill the enemy & get a reward. Then if they had already done too many crimes to make it to heaven, then to be a killer of Islams enemies will give them access to heavens rewards. So? So, they choose this religion rooted in their hate & lust to kill those they self righteously accuse or judge.

I'd be willing to die for a hoax if it brought the hoax to the truth.

To those that believe, we know that He lives. His spirit communicate with our spirit hereby we know that we are the sons of God. And to those that do not believe here is what Jesus had to say to you: unless you believe that I am He (the Son God) you will die in your sins and where I am you cannot come.
