Actually I would say this is the worst of times. Think ab out it what do we have now today: 1. Terrorism- It has gone global striking fear into the heart of mankind. 2. Nuclear armed rogue states- with the ability to destroy millions with a button, Iran and North Korea join the ranks of nuclear powers. Unfortunatly neither country has any rational sane person running the show. Who'se got the button? 3. Human rights violations and attrocities at an all time high. Warloards across the globe take from the poor and keep for themselves and the world as a whole sits by and just watches. Proof no one really cares enough to get involved. 4. Global enviornment destruction- Every other creature lives in harmony with it's enviornment.... except humans. As of right now the earth is the worst it has ever been due to our mismanagement. Global warming is on the rise, hundreds of thousends of satalites litter the orbit of the earth. Not only have we poluted the earth with our trash but now we are doing it to outerspace. 5. Religious zealots are at an all time high- causing strife amoungst the populas. Inciting people to do evil things. I could go on but it's a waste of my time and your time to read it. BTW I am not a christian , I just calls em like i sees em. As an army soldier I personally do not see this "peacfull times" the question asker is stating. Seems to me that we live in the most dangerous non-peacful times in human history.

To bad that you don't read the Bible or go to church. If you would you'd find out that there are somethings that take place in the book of Revaluation that hasn't happen yet in any other time in history. Plus put the books of Daniel, Isaiah, and Ezekiel in the mix too.
In Ezekiel he talks about bringing Israel together again. Israel was scattered for about 2000 years and in 1947 the U.N. gave the land that was to in the Bible as Israel. Now we have the E.U. which was talked about in the book of Daniel. Daniel describes a dragon that has thirteen heads. There are thirteen countries in the E.U. or soon will be. Three of the heads will be cut off and one will grow in the place of the three that was cut off.
That will be the Anti Christ. He will come in yelling for peace. He will use diplomacy to conquer all nations and call for peace but there will be no peace. He will also broker a peace plan between Israel and Islam for seven years. But it will not last. During this time the Israeli Synagogue will be built. He will also defile it by riding a hog into it and throwing pig's blood and proclaiming that he is God.
As for Christians we don't want any one to go through this or even go to the place of torment; but that would be your decision by not excepting Christ as your savior.

The end of the world is a good thing in all Christian's perspectives. Or at least it is supposed to be... The only main differance between American Christians and other Christians, actually religion in general, is that there are far more Americans that say Mormons aren't Christians, than there are Europeans or Africans combined.

Do you???I THINK OF THAT TOO. The Third secret of Fatima became obsolete the catholic church dismissed it.
All the religion were founded to gather money and enriched the leaders. I went to Lourdes and Fatima and there was a vast commerce of religious goods there. For a while I have this direct communion with the Lord and there was a time in my life that I have this close encounter with him.
The end will come to each one of us. Its the only thing that is constant. and the only thing trhat we are all afraid of. Death is the journey to the unknown..the uncertainties to me is a happy homecoming to the hands of God.

Plainly they do not. Their lives must be so incredibly miserable that they pray almost constantly for the End Of The World. They love the drama, the worldwide special FX, the notion of everyone but them getting "smoted" by their tempramental barbarian of a god.
Doubt me? Go to the "Rapture Ready" forum.
These are people who wish desperately for worldwide death and destruction so they can get their free ride to Disneyland. Is it possible to get any more selfish?
"Sick" doesn't begin to cover it.

If a Christian gets mad enough at me, they won't hesitate to say that judgment is coming.
What does it translate into?
These nasty Christians are willing to call me 'arrogant', 'stupid', a 'b****', and so on....but they don't wanna say the next worse thing.
They don't want to wish I die a horrible death.
But, the judgment day offers a horrible, slow, and painful death to us nonbelievers, right? So, it's a fairly harmless, and dodgy, way to wish a horrible death on someone without actually saying it.
Now, there are some nice Christians that say it, too. However, I don't think that they truly understand that scare tactics won't make me a Christian, and that if they are right, all their God will offer me is a cruel death....followed by eternal damnation.

well, its like this. you do not obviously know the lord and yes there are many of us who do not fear and will be happy to see jesus return . i do not mind being alive. i do mind the state of the people in this so deeply disturbed population and do not find it "INTERESTING"how a man can rape a newborn baby and find enjoyment while this infants insides are being ripped apart, how people can have sex with dead bodies, how priests can rape and molest children, how people can take things that they know are not theirs, dump a newborn infant in a dumpster, leave puppies in a box on the road to be killed or maimed by cars, how people can scare the life out of a 90 yr old couple in the middle of the night and beat them and steal their tv and what little they have and because they dont have enough they take the already terrified and suffering people, who by the way could be your grandparents, and take them tie them up and set them on fire. the lies , the deceit, the thievery, senseless crimes and murders, kidnapping, rapes, child molestation, digging up dead bodies, torturing animals.if you find this world interesting that may be a good thing for you because if you do not know the lord you will be left behind and still living here in this world you find so interesting after he returns and takes the rest of us out of here. i do not find it interesting. i find it scary, sad, repulsive and violent and while i enjoy living and seeing places and learning new things, i will be happy for jesus to return right this second and take me out of here.and for the record the book is called the bible and the chapter is revaltion. try getting a king james bible and reading it and when you are alone one day with just yourself and god, ask jesus to come into your heart.repent for your sins and get full body submersion water baptized and you can come with us.i will pray for you.

Yes, they do. The believe that after the "end times" they will spend eternity in paradise, and who wouldn't want to live in paradise? They tend to ignore history however, and don't realize what you said about Revelations is quite true. Ultimately, the "end time" comes when each of us individuals die. I'm hoping the "end times" are decades away.

I am a christian and the end days have been predicted for the last hundreds of years. The fact of the matter is, God is the only one who knows when that will be. Jesus doesn't even know. They could come tomorrow or in 3007! God bless~

Sadly yes, they exist. There are some Christians out there who long for the world to end and will actually try to hurry it up. Look at the dominists, they are scary.
