but he never gets around to it, or i ask him to do something simple and he forgets. It seems like everything goes in one ear and out the other! He is a perfect guy in every other aspect but how can i get him to do the things i ask without constant supervision or reminding?

I'll bet if he doesn't do it you will do it for him. Let the dishes pile up and see what happens...

This might be a little fun if you do it with a smile... Write a short note explaining what you wish for him to do. The stick a piece of tape to it. When you see him next, smile at him and slap it on his forehead! Bet he gets the job done! Good luck.

This sounds like "passive resistance" to me. Do not remind him (he will consider that nagging). Do explain that his forgetfulness has you losing your trust and security about his competency and desire to be there for you in times of need.
Then be unable to fulfill his requests because you are doing things he forgot to do for you and see if his memory improves.

not all guys but there are a lot out there..like that. so you have to determine if he is just lazy... does not care what you want... or has no brain.. you also have to decide whether or not you can tolerate having to remind him of everything. if you have no problem with it. cool. if not.. time to move on

Girlfriend, I am married to a man just like that! Let me tell you what I do. Be specific ask him when, today? tomorrow?, make sure he gives you a time and hold him responsible for it.

Ask him once. If he doesn't do it, do it yourself. Men don't like women who nag. When he sees you doing what you asked him to do, he should feel guilty and take it over from you. If he doesn't feel guilty, then you are with the wrong guy.

Sounds like you need to find another boyfriend. Or tell him to get his act together.

Are you his mother? Why does he need supervision. Do it yourself.
