I hate to tell you this but it's not your sister in law's fault. It's your brother's fault. It seems he has no spine to tell his wife he will do what he wants and visit his family as he wants. He must like his wife or he wouldn't have married her. He is probably using her as an excuse becuase he really doesn't want to spend time with you.

Be super nice to her. it'll drive her crazy.

She obviously is a little green around you.. maybe she thinks you'll talk your brother out of the marriage because deep down, she knows she's unreasonable (and yes. not letting your brother hang out at a pub with you, his SISTER is unreasonable if you ask me)

maybe she thinks that anyone you bring along with you will outshine her in some way and he'llbe interested. Maybe she's abusive and is trying to hold your brother from his family and isolate him. Maybe she just has to be in the middle of everything all the time and doesn't want to think about you guys doing things without her.

She sounds very insecure. Both with herself and her marriage. maybe you can ALL go out together, her included so she can see you're not out to sabotage her or her marriage.

Your brother is married now so he has no reason to visit a pub, She has every right not wanting him to go. She's just trying to avoid hearing the excuse...."I was drinking and this blond came up and was talking to me and one thing led to another and before I knew what was happening it just happened it didn't mean anything." Why can't you catch up at his house? Or get married yourself so your wife can be a ***** to and not let you go to the pub.

It is in your brother's corner now. If he wants to let his new wife control what he does now it will only just get worse. He needs to be able to go out and maybe her problem is just a trust issue, which is not a good way to start off a marriage. Hopefully your brother can stand up for himself and demand trust and respect.

think you are laying blame at the wrong door here
doesnt your brother have a voice, an opinion, a backbone?
perhaps he likes things the way they are, if he didnt surely he would make arrangements with his wife to have a night out with you. Speak to him, if its because hes under the thumb, its his fault not hers

Go somewhere besides a bar.... You need to remember your brother ultimately makes the decision, all men blame the wives but it is usually them not wanting to go, or not wanting to upset the wife.

Your brother needs to let her know that she needs to back off and that he is not looking for anything out there, he just wants to spend time with his brother, that is all, hopefully that helps. She needs to trust your brother!!

perhaps your brother needs to develop a mind of his own?

it's HIS fault, not hers. your brother is allowing his wife to run his life.

i dont' think there is anything wrong with two brothers getting together for drinks, or an outing. apparently, she is jealous, doesn't trust him, and HE is allowing her to run his life.

someday he will probably get sick of it, and run his own life?

time will tell.

tell him to get a back bone and tell her that he can hang out with his brother. he needs to let her know that he does wear his ring,he knows hes married and proud to be ,and part of a marriage is trust.
